Abstract:
An image capture apparatus includes a photometry unit, which performs photometry of luminance in each of the photometry areas in an image sensing scene, a photometry mode determination unit, which determines a photometry mode, a filter operation unit, which performs an operation on a luminance value of a photometry area by taking into account luminance values of photometry areas around the photometry area, and an exposure value determination unit, which determines an exposure value without using a result of the operation by the filter operation unit when the photometry mode determination unit determines that the photometry mode is a first photometry mode, and when the photometry mode determination unit determines that the photometry mode is a second photometry mode, determines the exposure value by performing an operation in accordance with the second photometry mode after the operation performed by the filter operation unit.
Abstract:
An image capturing apparatus in which the ratio between the brightness just before preliminary light emission and the brightness at preliminary light emission is calculated for each of a plurality of photometric areas. The highest ratio among the ratios in the areas is extracted as a reference value, the extracted reference value is compared with the ratio in each area, and a weighting coefficient in each area is calculated. By using the obtained weighting coefficient, the amount of light to be emitted for obtaining correct exposure is calculated.

Abstract:
An object of this invention is to provide a photoelectric conversion device which can always appropriately perform charge accumulation independently of the luminance levels of objects, can read out an image signal by effectively using the dynamic range, can attain accurate auto-focus, and can realize them at low cost without increasing the circuit scale. In order to achieve this object, a memory is provided for each photoelectric conversion element, and a controller controls charge accumulation of the photoelectric conversion element on the basis of control information read out from the memory.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a camera system which is arranged to find the amount of emission of a main emission on the basis of a measured light value obtained during a preliminary emission, and perform control of the main emission. More specifically, the present invention provides a camera system which is arranged to inhibit processing, such as abnormal-reflection correction, during execution of a specific kind of photography, such as bounce flash photography, perform control processing suited to the specific kind of photography, and execute correct amount-of-light control.
Abstract:
Apparatus for detecting a sight axis may be used with a device for detecting the attachment of a detachable power supply. Forming structure is provided for forming information corresponding to a sight axis of a viewer of the apparatus. Structure is also provided for detecting when the power supply of the apparatus is switched on. Setting structure is provided for setting a first control mode for controlling the apparatus on the basis of the information formed by the forming means, and a second control mode for controlling the apparatus without utilizing the information. Control circuitry is provided for preferably causing the setting structure to automatically set the second control mode when the power supply is detected as being switched on. Preferably, a first storage area is provided for storing correction data unique to the viewer and used for correcting the sight axis information. A second storage area may be provided for storing correction data corresponding to an average of unique correction data from a plurality of viewers. When the unique correction data cannot be used, the average correction data may be substituted therefor. Also, a photographing operation can be delayed until after the sight axis data is corrected. Further, the power supply may be switched off a predetermined time after the sight axis data has been calculated if an exposure operation is not then commanded.
Abstract:
A camera has a first photographing mode for also performing a second photographing operation at a focusing-lens position of a first photographing operation, a second photographing mode for performing autofocusing for every photographing operation, and diaphragm controller for controlling the amount of an aperture of a diaphragm. The diaphragm controller maintains the diaphragm in a state at the first photographing operation when the first photographing mode is selected, and returns the diaphragm to a predetermined position for every photographing operation when the second photographing mode is selected.
Abstract:
In a flash photographing system, measuring light is calculated by dividing a picture plane into a plurality of areas and adjusting a quantity of flash light on the basis of light measurement outputs obtained from the plurality of areas. The light measurement outputs are evaluated and weighted according to focusing states of the areas, and the weighting values are varied according to the kind of automatic focusing mode selected, so that a quantity of flash light can be controlled appositely to the automatic focusing mode selected.
Abstract:
A camera is arranged to perform shutter control for flash photography either in a first mode which is for a normal shot or in a second mode in which a shot, particularly a panoramic shot or the like, is to be taken with an image plane partly blocked from light. The camera ensures an adequate flash photography by causing the synchronizing threshold values of shutter time for flash photography to differ with the first mode and the second mode.
