摘要: Provided is a display apparatus capable of reducing external light reflection to reduce an amount of glare of the outside, in which a translucent protection member is provided to cover an observation surface side of a display member including an organic EL light-emitting portion, in order to protect the display member. The display apparatus includes the display member with an organic EL light-emitting portion having a pair of electrodes and an organic compound layer provided between the pair of electrodes; and a casing for housing the display member, wherein a protection member is provided in the casing with a gap from the display member, and wherein a phase member and a polarizing member are formed on the protection member such that the polarizing member is located closer to a light extraction side than the phase member.

摘要: There are provided a display apparatus that can display an image having higher resolution feeling while solving the problem of patterning precision for sub pixels which is difficult to obtain in production, and a production method thereof. The display apparatus includes a plurality of pixels disposed in two directions within a display surface and each having a sub pixel for emitting red light, two sub pixels for emitting green light, and a sub pixel for emitting blue light, wherein the sub pixel for emitting red light and the sub pixel for emitting blue light are disposed so as to partially overlap each other in one of the two directions, and the two sub pixels for emitting green light are disposed distant from each other in the one direction, wherein for the pixels adjacent to each other in the one direction, the sub pixels for emitting green light are adjacent to each other, and the sub pixel for emitting red light and the sub pixel for emitting blue light are adjacent to each other, and wherein the pixels adjacent to each other in the other of the two directions have the same sub pixel disposition.

摘要: A color display apparatus is of the type wherein a unit pixel is constituted by at least three subpixels including first to third subpixels, and at each subpixel, a medium for changing an optical property depending on a voltage applied thereto is disposed. The color display apparatus includes means for applying a voltage, to each of the first to third subpixels, for changing the optical property of the medium within a brightness change range in which light passing through the medium is changed in brightness and a hue change range in which the light passing through the medium assumes chromatic color and a hue of the chromatic color is changed while including combinations of red and green, red and blue, and green and blue for the first to third subpixels, respectively.
