Abstract: A lattice tower for high-voltage overhead transmission lines having a lattice structure is provided that includes: a base anchored to the ground; a top portion designed for anchoring first and second conductors of a high-voltage overhead transmission line; and a body which extends between the base and the top portion. The lattice tower includes a grid high-voltage electric switching substation that includes: GIS-technology-based switchgear equipment arranged within the base of the lattice structure; a first loop-in loop-out feeder connection configured to connect the first conductors of the high-voltage overhead transmission line to the GIS-technology-based switchgear equipment; a second loop-in loop-out feeder connection configured to connect the second conductors of the high-voltage overhead transmission line to the GIS-technology-based switchgear equipment; and a protection, command and control system arranged within the lattice structure, or in proximity to the base of said lattice structure.

Abstract: A tower for a high-voltage overhead electric transmission line has a predetermined shape defining an internal volume of the tower, and carries a first tension side of a first line section and a second tension side of a second line section. The first and second tension sides have respective pluralities of first and second tension terminals, each associated with a respective phase of the high-voltage overhead electric transmission line. The tower supports a switchgear unit connected at a first end to the first line section and at a second end to the second line section and configured to modify grid configuration, interrupting and restoring electrical continuity in pre-established points, to interrupt nominal and fault currents, and to carry out safety operations. The switchgear unit has a plurality of switchgear unit poles, each associated with a respective phase of the high-voltage overhead electric transmission line and including a line circuit breaker and at least one line disconnector.

Abstract: An overhead power line, in particular for medium and high voltage, comprising a five-phase power line, for a given number of conductors, and a plurality of pylons. Each of the pylons comprises a head portion to which the five electrical phases are fixed by means of their respective five attachment points, and a ground support portion fixed to the head portion. The five attachment points comprise four external attachment points arranged at the vertices of a quadrilateral and vertically misaligned with each other, and one internal attachment point arranged within the quadrilateral and vertically misaligned with the external attachment points. Each of the attachment points is of the suspension type supported by a pair of insulator chains arranged in a “V” or “L” shape and fixed to the head portion.

Abstract: The invention relates to a system for supporting the stability of an electrical grid by storing/releasing electrical energy from/to said electrical grid, comprising: an asynchronous electric machine including a rotor provided with an accessible rotor circuit and a stator provided with a stator circuit; a flywheel coupled to the rotor; a static converter, and electronic control means. The stator circuit is connected to the electrical grid to be fed by the latter. The static converter is connected between the electrical grid and the rotor circuit and is controllable to supply said rotor circuit with an electrical power supply with adjustable frequency and voltage. The asynchronous electric machine is configured to: absorb electrical energy from the electrical grid by converting the absorbed electrical energy into kinetic energy and storing said kinetic energy by means of the flywheel; and deliver electrical energy to the electrical grid by converting the stored kinetic energy by means of the flywheel into electrical energy and providing the latter to the electrical grid. The electronic control means are configured to: receive measurement data indicative of a measured electrical grid frequency; determine, based on the received measurement data, ROCOF values indicative of a derivative of the measured frequency of the electrical grid; and control the operation of the static converter based on the determined ROCOF values. Furthermore, in case of a change in the frequency of the electrical grid, the asynchronous electric machine is configured to immediately provide an uncontrolled natural inertial response to said change in frequency by absorbing active power from the electrical grid in case of an increase in frequency or by supplying active power to the electrical grid in case of a reduction in frequency; and the electronic control means are configured to determine a given ROCOF value relative to said change in frequency and, once said given ROCOF value has been determined, begin to control the operation of the static converter such that the asynchronous electric machine begins to supply a controlled synthetic inertial response wherein the active power absorbed/supplied is modulated according to the given ROCOF value determined and the uncontrolled natural inertial response already provided.

Abstract: The invention concerns a method (1) to detect deformations of, and/or damages to, structures permanently arranged on the earth's surface. In particular, said method (1) comprises: acquiring (11) georeferencing data indicative of geographical reference positions of predefined points of interest of a given structure to be monitored permanently arranged on the earth's surface, wherein said predefined points of interest are representative of a 3D geometry of the given structure without deformations and damages; acquiring (12) a SAR image of an area of the earth's surface where the given structure is arranged, wherein said SAR image is associated with a given reference coordinate system; transforming (13) the geographical reference positions of the predefined points of interest into corresponding expected positions in the given reference coordinate system associated with the acquired SAR image so as to carry out a reprojection of the 3D geometry of the given structure without deformations and damages on the acquired SAR image; identifying (14) in the acquired SAR image the predefined points of interest of the given structure; determining (15) actual positions in the given reference coordinate system associated with the acquired SAR image of the predefined points of interest identified in said SAR image; making a comparison (16) between the expected positions of the predefined points of interest and the corresponding actual positions in the acquired SAR image; and detecting (17) one or more deformations of, and/or one or more damages to, said given structure on the basis of the comparison made.
