    摘要: A RAID system includes a RAID controller that sends to a disc apparatus data to be encrypted by a data relay apparatus connected to the RAID controller and the disk apparatus. When receiving a data transfer request packet indicating a first receivable size, the data relay apparatus establishes a second receivable size that is equal to or greater than the first receivable size and that is a multiple of an encryption data size. When the RAID controller receives a data transfer request packet containing the established second receivable size, and in response to the data transfer request packet thus received, the data relay apparatus receives data of the second receivable size sent from the RAID controller. The data relay apparatus also encrypts the received data in units of the encryption data size, and then the encrypted data is sent to the disk apparatus in units of the first receivable size.

    摘要: Each time any one of HDDs is accessed, a corresponding relationship between the disk address of the accessed HDD and the time information indicating a time at which the HDD is accessed is added to a first operating-state management table. When a corresponding relationship with the same disk address already exists in the first operating-state management table, the time information is updated. When the first operating-state management table has no space available for new entry, corresponding relationships are deleted from the one having the oldest time information. Only HDDs of which disk address is recorded in the first operating-state management table is turned on.

The file control system includes file control devices, and each of the file control devices is provided between a host computer and an external storage device. A first file control device among the file control devices checks for errors in the data read from a memory, changes the error detection code added to the read data from a first error detection code to a second error detection code, changes at least a part of the data when an error is detected, and executes DMA-transfer of the data, which is changed or is not changed, to a second file control device of the transfer destination.

    摘要: A data transfer device connected to data transfer destination via serial attached SCSI includes a plurality of buses. A queuing unit queues processing requests associated with data transfer. A transferring unit obtains data transferred associated with processing request upon receiving processing request and transfer obtained data to the destination by using one of the buses. A transmitting unit transmits processing request queued in the queuing unit to transfer unit. A detecting unit detects the number of processing requests. A determining unit determines whether the number of processing requests detected by the detecting unit is smaller than the number of buses. If the determining unit determines the number of processing requests is smaller than the number of buses, the transmitting unit divides the processing requests into a plurality of processing requests in accordance with the number of buses and the number of processing requests.
