Abstract:
A method provides control of push operations in a communication system. The method includes requesting capabilities information associated with a communication device. The capabilities information includes an indication of at least one push method supported by the communication device. The method also receives the capabilities information. The method also decides a way to handle a push operation towards the communication device based on the capabilities information. The capabilities information may be stored as a part of presence information relating to a user of the communication device.
Abstract:
A method comprises receiving a notification to share contact information for a contact in an address book of a sender with a recipient; retrieving the contact information for the contact; and delivering the contact information to the recipient.
Abstract:
Apparatus, and an associated method, for facilitating inter-working between a wireless local area network and a cellular system network. A manner is provided by which to compress, or not compress, packet header parts of packet data communicated between a mobile station and a correspondent node when handoff is performed between the networks of the different network types.
Abstract:
A method for providing a search tool for use in connection with address book management may include receiving an indication of an address book update event associated with a contact of an address book of a user, causing performance, via a processor, of a search responsive to receipt of the indication, and enabling modification of contact information associated with the contact based on the search results. A corresponding apparatus and computer program product are also provided.

Abstract:
A system and method for initiating a Device Management (DM) session between a client and a server. More particularly, a system and method for triggering an Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) DM client which does not support User Data Protocol (UDP) PUSH messaging to initiate a DM session with an OMA DM server. The OMA DM client may be triggered by configuring a service provider node to include an indicator in a Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) response message sent from a service provider node to the OMA DM client. Upon reception of the last HTTP response message, the OMA DM client may initiate a DM session with a OMA DM server and thereby receive initial provisioning data from the OMA DM server. Alternatively, the OMA DM server and OMA DM client may maintain a previously created DM session and thereby receive the initial provisioning data.
Abstract:
An apparatus for providing address book restoration includes at least one processor and at least one memory including computer program code. The at least one memory and the computer program code are configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the apparatus to receive an instruction to restore a record associated with a contact previously deleted from each of at least two synchronized address books, and recover the record from a deleted file repository at which the record was stored prior to deletion of the record, the deleted file repository being a memory location different than the address books. A corresponding method and computer program product are also provided.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an arrangement and method for performing a push operation in a communication system. Also, the present invention concerns an involved gateway entity and push destination entity. The arrangement comprises a receiver device, at a gateway entity of the communication system, configured to receive a request to perform a push operation towards a push destination entity, and comprises a connecting session device, at the gateway entity and the push destination entity. The connecting session device comprises setup means configured to setup a connecting session invoking a messaging session for delivering content to be pushed in the push operation towards the push destination entity.
