摘要： An apparatus for imparting substantially oscillatory motion to a subject. The apparatus has a support assembly for supporting the subject and an oscillatory mechanism for defining a path of motion of the support assembly, the path having a region of bilateral symmetry with respect to a reference point. An actuator assembly which may be coupled to the oscillatory mechanism enables the subject to control the oscillatory mechanism, as well as to brake and lock the motion of the mechanism. The apparatus may allow for the subject to recline on an articulated support assembly, in which case the equilibrium center of gravity of the support assembly is maintained substantially at the centerpoint of the path of motion regardless of the relative orientation of the articulated segments of the support assembly.

摘要： A diaper pail includes a pail, an upper enclosure having a substantially smooth and continuous outer surface, and a drum assembly mounted within the upper enclosure for transferring a soiled diaper into a disposal bag while minimizing the release of odor from previously disposed diapers already within the disposal bag. The outer surface of the upper enclosure and drum cooperate to form a smooth continuous outer surface which is easily cleaned. The drum assembly includes a flexible plastic seal received around an opening in the lower portion of the drum housing. A deck portion of the seal engages an outer surface of the drum, with the free edge of the flexible seal being movable relative to fixed edge to conform to irregularities in the outer surface of the drum. An actuator handle actuates movement of the drum.

摘要： The collapsible stroller (10) includes a fixed-width collapsible frame (12), a seat (14) mounted on the frame (12) across the width, front wheels (18,20) mounted to the frame (12), and rear wheels (22, 24) mounted to the frame (12). The frame (12) is movable between an open condition and a collapsed condition wherein the frame is collapsed into a generally planar configuration. Each of the rear wheels (22,24) is mounted to a respective wheel frame (66, 68) that is in turn pivotably mounted to a respective side portion of the collapsible frame (12). In the open position, the wheels (22, 24) are aligned perpendicular to the width of the stroller (10). The diameter of the rear wheel (22, 24) is substantially equal to the fixed width of the frame (12). When the wheel frames (66,68) are pivoted, the wheels moves behind the stroller wherein the wheels are positioned substantially parallel to the folding plane, and also within the peripheral width and height boundaries of the collapsed frame (12).

摘要： A ball and socket joint for connecting one end of a rail member to a base member includes a ball mounted on the end of the rail member. A socket and a radial slot in the base member permit pivoting of the rail section relative to the base between a first position and a second position. The socket also permits rotation of the ball in the socket to permit rotation of the rail member about its longitudinal axis relative to the base member between a locked orientation and a unlocked orientation. When the rail section is in the locked orientation it cannot pivot relative to the base member and when the rail section is in the unlocked position it is free to pivot relative to the base member.

摘要： A jewel case for a compact laser disc consists of a transparent hinged case and a disc holder received inside the case. The case is hingeably movable between a closed position wherein the case defines an interior cavity and an edge opening, and an open position wherein the interior cavity is exposed. The disc holder includes a spine adjacent the hinge edge which merges outwardly from a central portion thereof in a generally U-shaped configuration to form a pair of spaced arms. The disc holder further includes a raised shoulder extending in an arcuate contour around the arms and the spine with the arcuate contour opening outwardly toward the edge opening. The raised shoulder cooperates with the arms and spine to define a ledge which supports the edge margin of the disc while the raised shoulder engages the side edges of the disc. The raised shoulder extends in an arc wherein the end points of the arc define capture points which capture the disc within the arcuate contour when the disc is received between the arms. The disc can be mounted in the disc holder while the case is open, or can be inserted into the disc holder through the edge opening while the case is closed. A cam arrangement is provided for resiliently deflecting the arms outwardly to a deflected position to disengage the capture points from the side edges of the disc thereby releasing the disc from the holder.
