    摘要: An improved billiards ball spotting rack for the compact and precise formation of a plurality of billiard balls that operates by resting on top of and in contact with said billiard balls. The top mounted ball rack consists of a rigid frame and a series of aligning features that induce all of the balls into a tight position in contact with each adjacent ball. The design of the aligning features is such that a secondary compressing action required by ball spotting racks of prior art, commonly performed by pressing the balls with the fingers or thumbs or by the use of a moving mechanical device, is not necessary to achieve a compact and precise formation where every ball is in contact with every adjacent ball.

    摘要: A pipe tool, useful for cutting, removing a weld, and/or truing a pipe, comprises a housing; a drive interface; a gripper selectively insertable into an inner annulus of a pipe and movable independently of the housing, the gripper comprising a selectively expandable grip; a radially disposed cutter adapted to selectively engage a predetermined portion of an outer surface of the pipe, the cutter movable independently of the housing and the gripper; and a motor operatively in communication with the drive interface. In embodiments, a pipe is cut by maneuvering the pipe tool proximate an open end of a pipe, moving the gripper into the pipe; extending the grip to engage an interior wall of the pipe and secure the pipe tool from movement relative to the pipe; advancing the exposed face to a predetermined position relative to the pipe; axially advancing the cutter to engage an outer wall of the pipe; and rotating the housing until the cutters perform the desired cutting operation on the pipe.

    摘要: Apparatus, methods, and other embodiments for fifth wheel hitch assemblies are described herein. In one embodiment, a remotely controlled fifth wheel hitch assembly comprises a mounting rail, a head assembly, a locking arm, an actuation mechanism, and a remote control device. The mounting rail is coupled to a towing vehicle and the head assembly is slidably coupled to the mounting rail. The head assembly is capable of securing a trailer to the towing vehicle. The locking arm includes a locked position and an unlocked position. In the locked position, the head assembly is statically secured to the mounting rail. The actuation mechanism is coupled to the locking arm to move the locking arm between the locked and unlocked positions. The remote control device is coupled to the actuation mechanism such that the remote control initiates the actuation mechanism to move the locking arm between the locked and unlocked positions.

    摘要: A method of connecting pipe ends of two subsea pipes using a jumper includes raising two separate ends of two separate pipelines from an initial position of each of the two separate ends; creating a jumper pipe; welding a flange with a landing saddle to each pipeline end; disposing a predetermined number of cylinders at a predetermined interval offset with respect to each of the cylinders; connecting a cylinder end to a first leg of the jumper pipe; connecting a rod end to a second leg of the jumper pipe; using the cylinders to contract the jumper in a predetermined plane so that the flanges clear the pipe ends but not the flange saddles; supporting the jumper by a spreader bar; lowering the jumper over the pipeline such that the flange saddles rest on the pipeline ends; relaxing at least one of the cylinders so the jumper expands in the predetermined plane, driving the flanges onto the pipeline ends; releasing the spreader bar; and lowering the pipeline ends and jumper to a predetermined position.

    摘要: Multiple instances of operating systems execute cooperatively in a single multiprocessor computer wherein all processors and resources are electrically connected together. The single physical machine with multiple physical processors and resources is subdivided by software into multiple partitions, each with the ability to run a distinct copy, or instance, of an operating system. At different times, different operating system instances may be loaded on a given partition. Resources, such as CPUs and memory, can be dynamically assigned to different partitions and used by instances of operating systems running within the machine by modifying the configuration. The partitions themselves can also be changed without rebooting the system by modifying the configuration tree. A grouping of partitions, a community, shares memory. Memory may be private to a particular partition or may be shared by partitions within a community. When a community is formed the creating instance reads a configuration tree and builds management structures for the shared memory owned by the community. A single system may have one or more communities, each with their own representation within the configuration tree.

    摘要: A system remote sensor network that uses distributed intelligent modules includes a control panel having at least one intelligent sensor loop for coupling intelligent sensors, i.e., sensors having a unique ID, with the control panel and at least one remote interface module having an interactive display. A graphic representation of the floor plan in vector form is stored in the panel and module memories. In addition, the vector location of each peripheral coupled to the intelligent sensor loops is stored in each module's memory. By storing the floor plan in vector form, both low and high detail display images can be displayed with minimum memory requirement. Upon the issuance of a display command generated either by a user or by the panel, the graphic representation of the floor plan and locations of the sensors is displayed on the remote interface module. If a sensor has been activated when the network is active, the location of the activated sensor can be immediately known by commanding the interface module to display the sensor and related floor plan detail. Utilizing the graphic user interface of the interface module also greatly expands the functionality of the module by permitting a user, from the module, to enter pass codes, monitor the system, or modify the system. Extensive use of icons also decreases language barriers when the system is used by non-English speaking users.
