摘要： An apparatus that mass polishes a variety of fiber optic cable connectors simultaneously. The apparatus includes a plurality of polishing plates, each capable of holding its own polishing film and pad, and having a varying height. The apparatus further includes a plurality of connector fixtures that may receive a variety of connectors at varying angles. Each connector fixture communicates with a corresponding polishing pad. Thus, fiber optic cable connectors having a variety of polished end faces may be provided with the apparatus. The apparatus also eliminates the potential for contamination among polishing films, reduces polishing steps, and saves labor and maintenance costs.

摘要： An inventive hinge has the ability to be biased toward open and closed positions and/or is adapted to be hidden in door assemblies. The hinge includes a first bracket adapted to be mounted to a first workpiece. The first bracket comprises a generally tubular sleeve and opposed spaced-apart surfaces including first openings that are aligned with each other. A second bracket is adapted to be mounted to a second workpiece. The second bracket comprises opposed spaced-apart surfaces including second openings that are aligned with each other. The first bracket and the second bracket are oriented with respect to each other effective to align the first openings with the second openings. A hinge pin is received in the first and second openings effective to enable the first bracket to be pivotally movable relative to the second bracket. The tubular sleeve extends from the first bracket generally parallel with an axis of the hinge pin. A spring has a serpentine geometry and a generally L-shape along the hinge pin axis when in a relatively stable state. Also featured are door assemblies comprising the hinges and articles that include the door assemblies including motor vehicle bodies and tool boxes.

摘要： A discharge unit for an animal feeder attaches to the feed outlet of the feeder. The discharge unit has an upwardly extending coupling tube which engages the feeder outlet. Several feeder tubes extend outwardly from the lower end of the coupling tube and together with the lower end of the coupling tube define a central chamber of the discharge unit. A spreader cone is located within a floor region of the central chamber. Feed passing from the feed outlet of the feeder passes through the internal diameter of the coupling tube of the discharge unit and over the spreader cone before passing through the central chamber and through the feeder tubes to be discharged from the feeder.

The one-piece face plate is comprised of metal and includes door openings aligned with each of the side openings of the storage compartment assembly. Door assemblies are connected to the one-piece face plate in alignment with the door openings. A utility vehicle includes a truck chassis, a cab mounted to a front portion of the chassis, and the present utility body mounted to a rear portion of the chassis. The utility body can be constructed using swage-type fasteners and so as to be weld-free. Also featured is a method of constructing the utility body.

摘要： A universal handling container is disclosed that protects ESD sensitive items from physical damage and electrostatic discharge (ESD). The universal handling container is primarily intended as a temporary housing solution such as during the manufacturing or assembly of ESD-sensitive items which often require transportation between assembly stations and for temporary storage. The universal handling container includes a box constructed with a structural conductive material such as conductive corrugated plastic and has a base section, a hinge section and a lid section. The base and lid sections are lined with conductive resilient panels to increase the ESD shield integrity and provide a cushioning effect to protect against physical damage. The universal handling container may shaped like a decahedron with a base section that may be divided into a main section having a rectangular parallel piped shape and a pair side sections having a hexahedron shape on opposite sides of the rectangular parallel piped. The side sections are filled with conductive blocks each of which has a recess formed in a top surface thereof. The recesses accept conductive projections affixed to an inside surface of the lid section to form a closure mechanism that not only holds the container closed but also provides excellent conductivity between the base and lid sections thereby ensuring a good Faraday cage effect. A document holder may be affixed to the top of lid section to hold documents identifying the contents. Adapter blocks may be used to fill voids between the ESD-sensitive item and the container.
