    摘要: Mixed catalyst compositions comprised of a first supported chromium-containing catalyst component and a second supported chromium-containing catalyst component and which additionally have one or more metallic or non-metallic catalytic agents associated therewith are provided. The additional metallic or non-metallic elements associated with the catalyst components can be aluminum, titanium, zirconium, boron, phosphorous or combinations thereof. The pore volume of the silica supports used for the first and second catalyst components differs by at least 0.3 cc/g. The mixed catalyst compositions of the invention are useful for the preparation of polyolefins. They are particularly useful of polymerization of ethylene in particle form polymerizations to produce high density polyethylene blow molding resins having good processability and physical properties. The improved particle form polymerization process and products obtained thereby using the above-described mixed catalyst compositions are also described.

    摘要: A catalyst and method in which the catalyst is used in association with an aluminum cocatalyst in the polymerization and interpolymerization of 1-olefins. The catalyst is prepared by (1) reacting a mono- or polyfunctional phosphorus compound with silica, alumina or the like having surface hydroxyl groups, or a mixture thereof, in which the phosphorus compound reacts with these surface hydroxyl groups, followed by (2) reacting the product of this with a Group IIa (e.g. Mg) compound and further (3) reacting this product with a Group IVB, VB or VIB (e.g. Ti) compound. Alternatively, (1) is reacted with (3) and then with (2).

    摘要: A method for preparing a silica supported, &agr;-olefin polymerization catalyst includes the steps of treating a silica support with an organosilane compound, contacting the silylated silica support with a transition metal compound to form an intermediate, then contacting the resulting intermediate with an alkylmagnesium alkoxide to form the catalyst. The transition metal compound is either a metal chloride or a metal chloroalkoxide, and the transition metal is selected from titanium, vanadium, and zirconium. The alkylmagnesium alkoxide may be selected from butylethylmagnesium butoxide, butylethylmagnesium 2-ethylhexoxide, butyloctylmagnesium ethoxide, or butylmagnesium propoxide. The process steps may be carried out in the presence of an aliphatic organic solvent, such as heptane, with a slurry of solids in the solvent being formed during the process steps. Catalysts produced by this process, during which the alkylmagnesium alkoxide contacts the reacting components after the transition metal compound is applied, have higher activities when compared with catalysts prepared by known processes under similar conditions.
