摘要: A computer program that requires nothing more of a user than to read their choice of textual content in an animated format to increase reading speed via reconditioned reading behavior. The computer program: highlights a word on a page and puts a copy of the word in the center of the page so a reader can fix their eyes on the center of the page and still satisfy the common scanning strategy of repositioning the eyes to project a word on the center of the retina while the reader is reconditioned, by the highlighting of words progressing through the body text, to use the faster scanning strategy of fixing the eyes and changing the position on the retina being read; presents a picture representing the meaning of each word in order to recondition a user to use the faster cognitive strategy of triggering recognition of meaning with a picture; presents textual content with a timing based on syllables in order to create a presentation of textual content in sync with the natural timing of speech; can add a speaking voice to the animated format which enables the non-reader to learn printed language through context alone; can record the audio of an individual word read out loud from a selection of textual content for future playback of any textual content containing the word.

摘要: The present invention is directed to an electrical testing device for use in an AC electrical power distribution circuit including a plurality of AC electric power transmitting wires coupled between an AC power distribution point and a device box. The device includes a plurality of electrical probes configured for insertion into an outlet receptacle. A plug test connection arrangement is configured to receive a plug connector when inserted therein. The plug connector includes a plurality of plug contacts and a termination arrangement configured to terminate the plurality of AC electric power transmitting wires such that electrical continuity is established between the AC power distribution point and the plurality of plug contacts. The plug test connection arrangement includes a plurality of test contacts configured to mate with the plurality of plug contacts when the plug connector is inserted into the plug test connection arrangement. The termination arrangement being in a detached relationship from the device box after the plurality of AC electric power transmitting wires are terminated. An electrical test circuit is configured to perform at least one electrical test. The electrical test circuit includes a switch mechanism configured to connect the electrical test circuit to the plurality of electrical probes at a first switch setting or connect the electrical test circuit to the plurality of test contacts at a second switch setting. At least one shock mitigation structure is coupled to the plurality of electrical probes or the plug test connection arrangement and is configured to prevent user access to the plurality of electrical probes or the plug test connection arrangement.

摘要: An apparatus that combines an RFID-like machine configuration reader with a device for acquiring machine diagnostic information. The apparatus includes an RFID-like communicator with an antenna and a machine diagnostic sensor, with the RFID-like communicator and the machine diagnostic sensor being substantially combined in a single housing. The apparatus is generally used with a portable data processor. The machine diagnostic sensor may be a thermal sensor, a vibration sensor, a flux sensor, or any other diagnostic sensor used in analysis of machine health. Electromagnetic interference shielding material may be disposed between the RFID-like communicator antenna and the machine diagnostic sensor to prevent electromagnetic interference between the RFID-like communicator and the machine diagnostic sensor. A method of diagnosing the condition of a machine using a combined RFID-like machine configuration communicator and machine diagnostic sensor is provided where the machine has an RFID-like transponder tag and an inspection point. The combined diagnostic reader is positioned in a first orientation where the RFID-like machine configuration communicator is in operative communication with the RFID-like transponder tag to read machine configuration date, and then the diagnostic reader is positioned in a second orientation where the machine diagnostic sensor is proximate to the inspection point to acquire machine diagnostic information.
