Abstract:
A method of integrating a valve system with a to be molded component part, such as a throttle valve assembly and a throttle body or air horn, consisting of: first, assembling or manufacturing the throttle valve assembly; second, coating or completely lining the valve assembly with a meltable core material; third, placing the lined valve assembly in place in a die of the throttle body or air horn to be molded; fourth, removing the molded throttle body with valve assembly integral therewith; and finally, heating the meltable core material between the throttle valve assembly and air horn to melt it and remove it therefrom to provide the desired clearance space between, permitting relative rotation between the two.
Abstract:
An electronically controlled intake manifold system for an internal combustion engine includes an intake manifold for conveying charge air to each of the cylinders of the engine, an electronically driven pressure pulse generator operatively connected with the manifold for the purpose of producing pressure pulses within the manifold at one or more frequencies related to an operating parameter of the engine, and a processor using at least one operating parameter of the engine to generate a signal for driving the pressure pulse generator.
Abstract:
An improved throttle modulator assembly and a thermoplastic fluid direction tube for insertion into a throttle modulator assembly are disclosed. The thermoplastic fluid direction tube is annular and hollow and is made from a thermoplastic material having a coefficient of thermal expansion about the same as the throttle modulator body. Further, an annular press ring and at least one associated press wing extending axially therefrom are located along the longitudinal dimension of the end tube portion of the thermoplastic tube.
Abstract:
A fluid direction tube insertion assembly for simultaneously inserting two or more fluid direction tubes into an automobile engine body or part thereof. The fluid direction tube insertion assembly includes at least two thermoplastic fluid direction tubes which preferably have a coefficient of thermal expansion about the same as the automobile engine body or part thereof into which they are to be inserted and a flexible bracket which is sufficiently flexible that it may be flexed during insertion of the fluid direction tubes into corresponding receiving bores in the engine body to provide proper alignment/orientation of the fluid direction tubes with the corresponding receiving bore. The fluid direction tube insertion assembly may be either a one-piece molded one or may be of separately molded fluid direction tubes and a separately molded flexible bracket which are subsequently joined.
