An image processing apparatus that can be controlled according to multiple control methods for multiple types of control. The image processing apparatus includes a user identifier obtaining unit that obtains a user identifier; a specification input receiving unit that receives the input of one type of control specified from among multiple types of control as well as one of multiple control methods that are supplied for each type of control; a control method setting unit that, based on the specification input received by the specification input receiving unit, performs default configuration that sets one of the multiple control methods that are supplied for each of the other multiple types of control; a control method storage unit that stores the control method for the specified type of control as well as control methods for the other types of control set by the control method setting unit while associating them with the user that is specified by the user identifier obtained by the user identifier obtaining unit; and a controller that executes control with regard to the multiple types of control in accordance with the control methods stored in the control method storage unit.
Abstract:
The present invention is intended to reduce operation load of a responsible person corresponding to external address for transmission of an e-mail to the external address. In order to accomplish this, an e-mail transmission device transmits an e-mail based on an operation made by a user, comprising: a storage part for storing therein a destination address registration information in which a destination address of the e-mail, an address type information in which either of internal address or external address is registered as type of the destination address, and an address responsible for external address registered if the address type registered in the address type information is external address are associated with each other; and a transmission part for transmitting the e-mail to the destination address designated by the user from a plurality of destination addresses included in the destination address registration information. When the address type registered in the address type information associated with the designated destination address is external address, the transmission part reads the address responsible for external address associated with the designated destination address, creates the e-mail in which the address responsible for external address is set for a source address field and a return address field, and transmits the e-mail thereby created to the designated destination address.

MFP as an image forming apparatus includes a touch panel, a controller connected to the touch panel, a memory for storing a data file, and a communication device for communicating with another device. Continuously after two contacts are made on the touch panel, when a gesture of moving the two contacts in a direction that a spacing therebetween is decreased and then releasing the two contacts after being moved is detected, the controller identifies a file presented by an icon displayed in an area defined by the two contacts at least either of before and after being moved, as a file to be transferred, and transfers the file to be transferred to the other device in response to a request to transfer a file from the other device received by the communication device.

A transmission-side MFP receives a user name, checks whether the user name is registered in a destination user list, and if so, transmits image data to a reception-side MFP. If an ACK is received, the transmission-side MFP displays that transmission was successful. When a NACK is received or a time out occurs, the transmission-side MFP checks whether the user name is registered in an individual address book, and if so, transmits the image data using a corresponding transmission method. If an ACK is received, the transmission-side MFP displays that transmission was successful. If a timeout occurs, the transmission-side MFP displays that transmission failed.

An image processing apparatus includes a sort unit for sorting original image data into edge image data and planar image data, a first coding unit for coding the sorted planar image data according to the fractal block coding method, and a second coding unit for coding the sorted edge image data according to a coding method differing from the fractal block coding method. Thus, an image processing apparatus is provided that can have picture quality of a reproduced image improved even for a block that has maximum density difference such as an edge portion. The image processing apparatus can include a first coding unit for coding original image data according to the fractal block coding method, an extractor for extracting error between blocks, a comparator for comparing the amount of extracted error with a predetermined value, and a second coding unit for coding error information according to a coding method different from the fractal block coding method when the error amount is greater than the predetermined value as a result of comparison.
