    摘要: A setting unit selects and sets one of a plurality of commercial power frequencies. A frame rate setting unit sets a frame rate corresponding to the commercial power frequency set by the setting unit. A control unit controls an imaging unit such that imaging is carried out at the frame rate set by the frame rate setting unit to thereby acquire image data successively. A detection unit detects a scanning line part at which luminance changes to differ between image data items successively acquired by the control unit. A changing unit changes the commercial power frequency set by the setting unit in accordance with a detection result obtained by the detection unit.

    摘要: A histogram is generated from image data, and two distribution areas are detected. A gamma curve used for gamma correction of the image data is changed into a gamma curve corresponding to the luminance ranges of the two distribution areas. The luminance values of each pixel in the two distribution areas are converted by the gamma correction using the changed gamma curve, and the luminance ranges of the two distribution areas are expanded to the higher luminance side while the relative relation of the luminance the pixels is maintained.

If it is judged that it is not possible to flash three times consecutively with the calculated amount of flashing, the imaging apparatus limits the amount of flashing to the largest amount of flashing within the range of amounts of flashing with which flashing of strobe light three times consecutively is possible, and performs strobe consecutive shooting with the limited amount of flashing.

Magnification set by an optical zooming function is acquired, and a gamma curve, namely gradation correcting information is set to a gamma lookup table, while the gamma curve is applied during a photographing operation based upon the acquired set magnification. A gamma correcting unit corrects gradation of image data (namely, RAW data) outputted from an imaging element by employing gradation correcting information set in this gamma lookup table.
