A method and an arrangement for synchronizing distribution information of a sorting stock are disclosed. The sorting stock has information relating to a sorter element of a sorter loaded with the sorting stock. The sorter element is moved, together with a plurality of further sorter elements, on a path closed on itself past a laying-down station where the sorting stock is laid onto the support of this sorter element. The occupancy of the sorter element is recognized by an image comparison and the information known before the laying-down relating to the sorting stock is assigned unequivocally to the sorter element recognized as fed.

A cross belt sorter is provided for transporting and sorting piece goods, composed of a plurality of sorter elements which are moved on a conveyor track and which are coupled to form a train or can be moved individually and which are in each case provided with a cross belt which circulates continuously around deflection rollers and can be driven transversely with respect to the transport direction of the sorter elements and on which the piece goods can be transported in a resting position and loaded and/or unloaded at fixed loading and/or unloading locations, for which purpose at least one deflection roller of the cross belt corresponds to a drive. The drive of the at least one deflection roller for the cross belt be provided by means of a barrel motor which is arranged within the deflection roller.

A sorting plant and method for sorting articles, especially flat mail consignments, include a conveying device, a transfer mechanism and at least one reception device. A conveying transport mechanism of the conveying device transports an article along a conveyor track. The reception device has a plurality of reception components for at least one respective article and a reception transport mechanism. The reception transport mechanism moves the reception components along a reception component track and simultaneously brings one respective reception component of the reception device into a transfer position. The reception component track has a reception segment proceeding vertically or obliquely from the top downward. The transfer mechanism brings an article from the conveying device into one of the reception devices when the article is located at a transfer point on the conveyor track and when this reception component is located in a transfer position with respect to the transfer point.

The invention relates to an apparatus for handling individually packaged goods in an array-like, two-dimensional configuration. The apparatus has a plurality of conveying means arranged in the manner of an array. These conveying means, driven independently of one another at variable speed and in a selectable direction ensure the individual movement of the individually packaged goods to be processed. The control device, in conjunction with the image processing system, coordinates these individual movements in such a way that the randomly fed individually packaged goods can be separated, aligned, conveyed, sorted, stored and sequenced.

An arrangement is provided for increasing the reading and writing integrity of RFID labels which are fastened, in particular, to piece goods of the type which lie on a flat support by way of at least one preferably flat supporting side which forms a possible fastening plane for the RFID labels, such as a parallelepiped-shaped piece good or the like. In order to ensure inexpensively and simply the predominantly automatic reading and writing of the RFID label irrespective of the position and orientation of the piece good on its support, it is proposed that the RFID label is arranged in at least two adjacent planes of the piece good which differ from one another, to which end the label is bent out of a first fastening plane about at least one edge of the piece good, which edge delimits the possible supporting side, into at least one second fastening plane.

The invention comprises a conveying device for mail piece goods, and a method for the automatic oriented placement of such piece goods in a container. The piece goods are discharged individually into the container via a slide. The slide is has two rolls in the region of the lower planar section of the conveying area. The rolls are power-operated at speeds that are different from each other, have a great section of the conveying area. The rolls are power-operated at speeds that are different from each other, have a great coefficient of friction on the surface thereof, and provide the piece goods with a defined speed in order for the piece goods to be dropped into the container in a targeted manner, be oriented properly, and be stacked. The closer one roll lies to the discharge end, the greater the speed of said roll is selected relative to another roll.

A method for distributing letter-post items, for which the letter-post items are separated and the address information affixed to the items is read, provides that for letter-post items belonging to a predetermined sorting class an identification mechanism is assigned to each letter-post item during the reading of the address information in order to mark the position of the assigned letter-post item in a letter-post item stack and that each identification mechanism is assigned to an element for a predetermined sequence of distribution positions and that the assignment of the identification mechanism to the elements of the sequence for the distribution position is displayed.
