    摘要: An inkjet printer that automatically expels bubbles trapped at a filter—which removes foreign materials from ink supplied to the inkjet head—to eliminate ink discharge problems caused by trapped air bubbles. Ink (40) is supplied through ink-supply-line part (23), filter (24), and ink-intake opening (202) to inkjet head (2) of inkjet printer (1). If a bubble (30) in ink (40) becomes trapped at the top surface (24a) of filter (24), the bubble (30) is separated from the filter top (24a) by the buoyancy of the ink (40). When the bubble (30) separates from the filter top (24a), it forms a spherical bubble (30A). This spherical bubble (30A) then rises through conically shaped ink-path-connection part 222 and ink-supply-line part 23. The internal volume of ink-path-connection part 222 is less than 1.1 times the volume of a sphere internally tangent to ink-supply-line part 23. Therefore, bubble (30A) freely rises through ink-supply-line part 23. Print defects that occur when a bubble (30) is trapped at the filter top are, therefore, prevented.

    摘要: An information recording/reproducing device is provided with design features permitting are reduction in device height making it readily suitable for compact utility in a computer assembly, such as, a laptop computer or the like as well as a simplification of parts to provide for a reduction in manufacturing and assembly costs. These features include a structure for miniaturization and simplification of the collet mechanism and its assembly for clamping the recording medium, and the employment of a light guide member in the recording medium detection system for detecting the instantaneous rotational position of the recording medium from which a timing signal is derived. With the improvement of the clamping mechanism and use of a light guide member, significant miniaturization and thinning or reduction in casing height of the device can be achieved. Also, a simple but highly effective locking mechanism, not requiring a separate assemblage of parts, is utilized for preventing the extended carriage arm of the recording/reproducing head from accidentally transferring from its standby position to its operational position in the absence of a recording medium inserted into the information recording/reproducing device subjecting it to damage.

    摘要: A print wheel printer of the type having a print wheel spring extension releasably engaged in a primary indent formed in the circumferential surface of the print wheel shaft is provided with relative angular surface relationships for the spring indent or spring extension such that the initial impact and force of the spring extension dropping or falling into the shaft indent is reduced extending the life of the printer while concurrently reducing the noise level of the printer operation. An auxiliary indent is also formed in the circumferential surface of the print wheel shaft in advance of the primary indent to provide for minimal engagement of the print wheel extension with the print wheel shaft during periods of time when the print wheel spring extension is not in engagement relative to the primary indent.
