The method includes overlaying a distributed hash table (DHT) network over an existing physical communication network to which the peers are connected, wherein the DHT network is a peer to peer (P2P) network; providing at least one application layer multicast (ALM) protocol over the overlayed DHT network to form an ALM tree topology for the peers, wherein the ALM tree topology is based on location information of the peers; using the ALM tree topology for establishing logical connections within a group, between a leader of the group and peers of the group; and using the overlayed DHT network for establishing connections, between the leader and the peers, to be followed by a message to be distributed to the peers.

    摘要: According to a first aspect of the present invention there is provided a method of detecting faults within a telecommunications network, said telecommunications network comprising a plurality of entities. The method comprises grouping said entities into one or more groups based on the call traffic handled by said entities or on the call traffic said entities are configured to handle, for at least one of said groups, monitoring the call length pattern of a plurality of grouped entities of said group, and for at least one of said grouped entities, comparing the monitored call length pattern of the grouped entity with the monitored call length pattern of one or more of the other grouped entities to determine if the behavior of said grouped entity is indicative of a fault. The entities may comprise nodes of the network or hardware elements within one or more nodes of the network.

    摘要: A method of detecting media plane faults within a communications network. The method comprises, following the establishment of a media plane connection between first and second end point nodes within the network, where the connection transits one or more intermediate nodes within the media plane, sending session test requests from the first end point towards the second end point across a supervision session established over the media plane, and sending session test acknowledgements from the second end point to the first end point, the session test acknowledgements identifying a first border of the supervision session. The method further comprises, in the event of a media plane fault, responding to the sending of a further session test request by returning a further session test acknowledgement identifying a second border of the supervision session. The media plane fault can be detected by comparing the first and second supervision session borders contained in session test acknowledgements.
