    摘要: A method for recycling a paved surface includes the steps of providing a motorized vehicle adapted to traverse a paved surface; providing the motorized vehicle with a plurality of degradation elements, a plurality of foaming elements and a plurality of compacting elements; each plurality being attached to a carriage slidably supported by a bearing surface of an underside of the motorized vehicle; degrading the paved surface with the plurality of degradation elements as the vehicle traverses the paved surface; foaming rejuvenation material by the plurality of foaming elements into the degraded surface as the surface is being degraded; and compacting the degraded surface and the rejuvenation material into a new surface with the plurality of compaction elements as the foaming elements continue to foam rejuvenation material into the degraded surface.

    摘要: In one aspect of the invention, a pick comprises a carbide bolster disposed intermediate an impact tip and a shank assembly. The impact tip comprises a superhard material bonded to a carbide substrate, and the tip is bonded to the bolster opposing a base of the bolster. The shank assembly comprises a central axis, a first end that protrudes into a cavity formed in the base of the bolster, and also an inducible attachment mechanism disposed proximate the first end. The inducible attachment mechanism is adapted to attach the shank assembly to the carbide bolster and restrict movement of the shank assembly with respect to the carbide bolster. The attachment mechanism may restrict movement of the shank assembly in a direction parallel to the central axis.

    摘要: A rigid composite structure has a first bore formed in a metallic material and a second bore formed by a super hard interior segment or segments disposed within the first bore. Each segment may be lined adjacent to one another and held under compression within the first bore. The segments may be made of super hard materials such as natural diamond, synthetic diamond, polycrystalline diamond, single crystalline diamond, cubic boron nitrate or other superhard composite materials which exhibit low thermal expansion rates and are generally chemically inert. The resultant rigid composite structure may possess higher tolerances to high pressures and high temperatures within the second bore.

    摘要: The invention is a system for transmitting data through downhole environments comprising a downhole network integrated into a downhole tool string. The downhole tool string comprises a plurality of downhole components. Each downhole component also comprises a conductor intermediate and operably connected to mating communication elements proximate the ends of the downhole component. The mating communication elements comprise magnetically conductive portions with different curie temperatures. The magnetically conductive portion may comprise segments or solid portions adapted to operate in the harsh downhole environments with temperatures ranging from 25 C to 275 C. Each downhole component is selected from the group consisting of drill pipes, drill collars, bottom hole assemblies, reamers, jars and/or production pipes.
