Abstract: A miniaturized microwave sampler has a first substrate and a second substrate mounted together on a mounting surface, a ground layer formed on the mounting surface, a slot-line formed on the ground layer. A first microstrip line is formed on a top surface of the first substrate and has a first end as a local pulse signal input port. A T-shaped second microstrip line is formed on a bottom surface of the second substrate and achieves an electromagnetic coupling with the first microstrip line through the slot-line. The second microstrip line has a longitudinal segment and a latitudinal segment both being perpendicularly connected together. The longitudinal segment has one end as a radio frequency signal input port. The latitudinal segment further extends to form two output ports.

Abstract: An ultra high frequency antenna includes a first plane, a second plane opposite to the first plane by a distance, a driven dipole, at least a parasitic element having an indentation, and a balun. The balun includes a coplanar strip line and a microstrip line which has a first strip, a second strip area parallel to the first strip, and a third strip perpendicular to the first and second strips. The coplanar strip line coupled to a truncated ground plane with two narrow slots. The present planer antenna features a compact size, wide impedance bandwidth, moderate gain, and excellent front-to-back ratio. This antenna is well suitable for the applications in RFID handheld readers.

Abstract: A discontinuous transmission line structure includes an input transmission line, an output transmission line, a plurality of meandered inductors, coupled in series between the input transmission line and the output transmission line, and a plurality of shunted to grounded capacitors, coupled between the meandered inductors.
