摘要： Format hard copy apparatus for providing a printed hard copy of formatted information displayed on the display surface of a video display terminal and comprising both fixed field and variable field information. In one mode of operation of the format hard copy apparatus of the invention, the format hard copy apparatus is capable of providing a printed hard copy of both fixed field and variable field information displayed on the display surface of a video display terminal. In a second mode of operation, the format hard copy apparatus is capable of providing a printed hard copy display of only the variable field information, this information being arranged in the printed hard copy in a leftjustified (columnar) format. The format hard copy apparatus of the invention is also capable of excluding in a final printed hard copy any displayed variable field information not desired to be printed out.

摘要： Moving ticker display apparatus for displaying stock exchange transaction information employs an array of neon lamps arranged in rows and columns. Characters are formed on the extreme righthand column of the array, one vertical line at a time, and move from right to left at a variable rate. The rate at which characters are displayed and the rate at which information is received normally differs. A recirculating buffer receives incoming information and makes same available for further processing prior to visual presentation by the matrix. At least one stage of the buffer is always empty. A plurality of discretely different speeds are available for advancing the display across the array. The particular speed utilized at any time depends upon the number of stages in the buffer which are filled at the time. Digital speed selector means, responsive to this number, selects the appropriate one of these speeds for use.

摘要： A fiber optic display employs a rotating drum having on the periphery thereof a plurality of light sources arranged along a line parallel to the axis of rotation. A row and column array of fiber optic members has one end terminating on a cylindrical surface and the other end terminating at a display surface. As the drum rotates with respect to the cylindrical surface, the line of light sources sequentially couples light on a column by column basis to the end of the fiber optic array associated with the cylindrical surface. By selectively energizing the light sources in synchronism with the rotation of the drum, alphanumeric characters are formed on the display surface.

摘要： Coded characters from a plurality of input sources are stored in different intervals of a recirculating memory, each interval containing the characters for a row of the display. Characters for a display row are loaded into buffer register means which is then recirculated and the contents encoded during successive recirculations to produce signals representing the portions of the characters to be displayed on respective lines of the display row. Information from one source is displayed in the plurality of rows which are upshifted to rows thereabove and new information displayed in the bottom row, by delaying the vertical sweep relative to said encoding during upshift. Information from another source is displayed in rows which do not upshift, by delaying the decoding so that it remains unchanged with respect to the vertical sweep.

摘要： Information, such as stock market transactions, stored in a common memory, is to be displayed visually by a plurality of remotely disposed video monitors. The displays of the various monitors can be totally independent in content, but partial or complete duplication is possible. Each monitor has a keyboard associated therewith whereby the memory can be interrogated for certain specific information to be displayed by the corresponding monitor. To this end, interrogations or requests are supplied sequentially into the memory. The requests are then read out of the memory into a data processor which generates answers. The answers are fed back into the memory and then read out from the memory to the various monitors at which the requests originated.
