摘要: A method of processing an audio signal is described. The method includes selecting one among a plurality of entries of a codebook based on information from the audio signal. The method also includes determining locations, in a frequency domain, of zero-valued elements of a first signal that is based on the selected codebook entry. The method further includes calculating energy of the audio signal at the determined frequency-domain locations. The method additionally includes calculating a value of a measure of a distribution of the energy of the audio signal among the determined frequency-domain locations. The method also includes calculating a noise injection gain factor based on the calculated energy and the calculated value.

摘要: A method for including an identifier with a packet associated with a speech signal is described. A signal is received. The signal is partitioned into a plurality of frames. A frame of the signal is encoded into a packet. A determination is made if the packet is encoded as a wideband packet or a narrowband packet. An identifier is packed in the packet based on the determination. The packet is transmitted. At least two illegal values are provided from an N-bit parameter, wherein at least one bit from the N-bit parameter is used to carry information. A number of bits from the N-bit parameter that are used to carry information is equal to log2(X), wherein X is the number of illegal values provided from the N-bit parameter.

摘要: A normalization factor for a current frame of a signal may be determined. The normalization factor may depend on an amplitude of the current frame of the signal. The normalization factor may also depend on values of states after one or more operations were performed on a previous frame of a normalized signal. The current frame of the signal may be normalized based on the normalization factor that is determined. The states' normalization factor may be adjusted based on the normalization factor that is determined.

摘要: Disclosed configurations include systems, methods, and apparatus arranged to generate a sequence of spectral tilt values that is based on inactive frames of a speech signal. For each of a plurality of inactive frames of the speech signal, a transmit decision is made according to a change calculated among at least two corresponding values of the sequence. The outcome of the transmit decision determines whether a silence description is transmitted for the corresponding inactive frame.

摘要: A method for dimming a first packet associated with a first bit rate to a second packet associated with a second bit rate is described. A first packet is received. The first packet is analyzed to determine a first bit rate associated with the first packet. Bits associated with at least one parameter are discarded from the first packet. Remaining bits associated with one or more parameters and a special identifier are packed into a second packet associated with a second bit rate. The second packet is transmitted.

摘要: A dynamic normalization factor for a current frame of a signal is determined to reduce loss in precision for low-level signals. The normalization factor depends on an amplitude of the current frame of the signal. The normalization factor also depends on values of filter states after one or more operations were performed on a previous frame of a normalized signal and on the normalization factor for the previous frame. The current frame of the signal is normalized based on the normalization factor that is determined. The states' normalization factor may be adjusted based on the normalization factor that is determined.

摘要: After a call is established between two stations using a codec that has been negotiated during call setup, in-band signaling may be used between the two stations to change the codec that is to be used. The in-band signals are indicative that the station that is transmitting the in-band signals can operate with a second codec and are used to probe whether the receiving station can also operate with that second codec. If the receiving station detects and reacts to the in-band signals, then both stations change to communicate with the second codec. The second codec has compatible packet sizes of the deployed (originally negotiated) codec without any need of infrastructure upgrade and/or quality compromise to legacy phone users (i.e., stations that cannot operate with the second codec).
