Abstract: A dryer apparatus is disclosed comprising a container having a container inlet and outlet, a pump that is configured to motivate a first air-vapor mixture flow via the container inlet and via the container outlet, a heating device configured to heat the first air-vapor mixture, a selector with at least two states, a compressor that is configured to compress and motivate a part of the first air-vapor mixture flow as a second air-vapor mixture flow, to flow through a first heat exchanger and to flow through a second heat exchanger and a pressure reducing device that is configured to reduce the pressure of said second air-vapor mixture downstream said first heat exchanger. The selector is configured to direct most of the first air-vapor mixture to flow in a closed cycle through the container, or configured to exchange most of the first air-vapor mixture with air located outside the apparatus.

Abstract: A heat exchanger having a fins and tubes heat exchanger coupled to a plates heat exchanger and an open sided bypass compartment facing one of the edges of the fin and tubes heat exchanger. The plates heat exchanger has an inlet zone and an outlet zone. The heat exchanger is configured to guide a fluid to flow from the inlet zone, through inlet pathways between plates of the plates heat exchanger, and fins of the fins and tubes heat exchanger then toward the bypass compartment, then in between the fins facing outlet pathways, toward in between the surfaces of the plates facing the outlet pathways, and then toward the outlet zone.

Abstract: A heat exchanger comprises a stack of sets of fins and tubes attached to or encompassed by embossed plates comprising a void. In some embodiments, the fins overlap the void having a peripheral margin of the fin attached to the peripheral margin around the void. In some embodiments, the fins comprise through fluid apertures allowing lateral fluid flow. In some embodiments, the plates comprise lateral peripheral protrusions enabling selective sealing of gaps between adjacent stacked plates by unselective application of heat or adhesive to a face of the heat exchanger. In some embodiments, the plates comprise uniformizing protrusions in a fluid inlet and/or outlet zone that reduce the amount of non-uniform fluid mass flow between different channel protrusions of heat exchanging zones of the set. Also disclosed are methods for assembly and selective sealing of the heat exchanger and an apparatus comprising the same.

Abstract: An atmospheric water generator (AWG) with a water cooling system is disclosed. In some embodiments, the AWG includes a cooling compartment defined by walls, designed to comprise a cooling medium and comprising a refrigerant coil. The storage tank for storing the water that are generated by the AWG shares at least a portion of a common wall with the cooling compartment. The refrigerant coil of the cooling compartment is in fluid communication with the refrigeration cycle and designed to be at least partially submerged in the cooling medium. In some embodiments, the stored water tank is submerged in the cooling compartment. Other embodiments are also disclosed.

Abstract: Method and system for controlling the humidity in an enclosure that has a humidity source such as a greenhouse. The system includes a refrigeration type dehumidifier having an air-to-air heat exchanger coupled to the evaporator. Air from within the enclosure flows through the air-to-air heat exchanger before and after it comes in contact with the evaporator, and the air that is exhausted from the condenser is expelled outside the enclosure. The water that is generated from condensation of humidity of the air within the enclosure is collected and dispensed to replenish water to the humidity source for example by irrigation of plants in a greenhouse. Hygrometers may be coupled to the system to indicate when dehumidification and/or irrigation is required.

Abstract: A drying apparatus includes a compartment for containing objects to be dried, a closed-loop air pathway and a regeneration heat exchanger. The closed-loop air pathway includes a cooling element and a heating element, and is configured to extract from the compartment air that includes moisture in the form of vapor, to evacuate heat energy from the extracted air to an external fluid flow by cooling using the cooling element so as to remove at least some of the moisture from the air, to reheat the air using the heating element, and to re-introduce the reheated air into the compartment. The regeneration heat exchanger is inserted in the closed-loop air pathway and is configured to transfer heat from the air extracted from the compartment to the air exiting the cooling element in the closed-loop air pathway.
