Abstract:
A fan blade includes an airfoil having opposite pressure and suction sides extending in span between a root and tip, and extending in chord between opposite leading and trailing edges. From root toward tip, the airfoil includes increasing stagger and decreasing camber, and increasing chord length to barrel the airfoil along both the leading and trailing edges. The airfoil further includes forward aerodynamic sweep at the tip, and non-forward aerodynamic sweep between the maximum barrel and the root.
Abstract:
A blade row for a rotary machine includes a radially inner endwall, a radially outer endwall having a radially inner surface, and an airfoil including a root section coupled to the inner endwall and a tip section coupled to the outer endwall such that the airfoil extends radially between the inner and outer endwalls. The radially outer endwall includes a projection extending radially inward from the outer endwall inner surface such that the outer endwall inner surface includes a non-axisymmetric shape.
Abstract:
A turbofan includes a row of fan blades extending from a supporting disk inside an annular casing. Each blade includes an airfoil having opposite pressure and suction sides extending radially in span between a root and tip and axially in chord between leading and trailing edges. Adjacent airfoils define corresponding flow passages therebetween for pressurizing air. Each airfoil includes stagger increasing between the root and tip, and the flow passage has a mouth between the airfoil leading edge and the suction side of an adjacent airfoil and converges to a throat aft from the mouth. The row includes no more than twenty fan blades having low tip solidity for increasing the width of the passage throat.
Abstract:
The invention relates to improved double-stranded RNAi constructs (sometimes referred to as “solo-rxRNA”) and uses thereof. The construct comprises a structure formed in some aspects of the invention by two identical single-stranded polynucleotides, with the structure having two double-stranded stem regions (each having less than 21 base pairs) and a loop or bulge having about 4 to 11 nucleotides on each strand. The construct is resistant to cleavage by Dicer or other Dicer-like RNase III enzymes and is capable of being loaded into a RISC complex to effect RNA interference. In addition, the nucleotides of the present hairpin constructs may be modified to greatly enhance functionality, such as stability and specificity.
Abstract:
A consolidated security application dashboard system is described wherein a plurality of endpoint systems include visibility agents that collect status and event attributes/metrics from a plurality of security applications and upload the information to datamarts on a backend server. The backend server aggregates and processed the security application attributes/metrics to enable configurable dashboards to present summary and detailed information to IT users about the security metrics relating to a group of endpoints.
Abstract:
A telephone dialing method relating each key of an alphabetic keyboard to a numeric digit and a telephone dialing apparatus and alphabetic keyboard device for sending dual-tone-multi-frequency (DTMF) and/or pulse telephone dialing signals over a communication path such as a local loop connecting a subscriber telephone to a switching office via a telephone dialing circuit. The alphabetic keyboard device may be configured according to a conventional typewriter QWERTY keyboard layout and is connectable to a conventional telephone to supplement its 12-key standard keypad, allowing the telephone to be dialed with individual alphabetic letters.
