    摘要: A printer or copier has a developer station for a toner image wherein a photoconductive drum is provided with a latent charge image that is developed by applying a toner/air mixture to a developer drum that in turn applies the toner to the photoconductive drum. The toner is charged by a charging device as it is applied to the developer drum. A sensor senses the toner on the developer drum and a control varies the quantity of toner applied. The sensor is an optical sensor or a capacitive sensor, and the charge applied to the toner by the charging device is varied depending on the sensor output. A voltage applied to the developer drum may also be varied.

    摘要: The device for transporting recording media (100), used especially in a fuser station of a printer or photocopier, comprises a counter-roll (201) and a feed roll (205), mounted movably relative to the counter-roll (201), between which rolls the recording medium (100) is transported by friction. Furthermore, a guide bar (214) is arranged in the manner of a balance beam with spacing parallel to the feed roll (205) and so as to be pivotable about an axis of rotation (216) relative to the feed roll (205). In order to press the feed roll (205) against the counter-roll in a force-compensating manner, as required, spring elements (218) are arranged on the guide bar (214) on both sides of the axis of rotation and are coupled to bearing elements (206) of the feed roll (205). The guide bar can be deflected via an adjusting motor (224) for controlling the position of the recording medium (100) between the rolls (201, 205).

    摘要: In a developer station for an electrophotographic printing or copying machine, there is provided a developer drum apparatus for producing optimum inking density and resolution of the charge images being passed through the developer station on a charge image carrier. The apparatus comprises a rotating hollow cylinder within which is contained a stationary magnet arrangement in the form of a series of rows of permanent magnets, each row being disposed longitudinally with the cylinder, supported on a stator carrier. The first row of magnets is disposed adjacent the lower end of the cylinder for attracting developer mix particles from the floor of the developer station housing and the succeeding rows of magnets are disposed along the transport path of particles on the cylinder to promote transport of the mix upwardly on the cylinder to an inking gap area with the charge image carrier. A final row of relatively wider magnets is disposed at the upper end of the cylinder with its longitudinal centerline substantially offset from the inking gap to promote uniform distribution of the mix along the length of the cylinder just prior to inking. The layer amount of developer mix carried by the rotating cylinder is set by an adjustable doctoring strip disposed beneath the first magnet row and a narrow transport channel defined between the cylinder and a housing wall along the mix transport path.
