    摘要: An image forming apparatus performs a single-side image formation such that, when a delay is needed, a stacked sheet discharge control section controls a sheet carrying mechanism so that: a first sheet (for a second imaging job) to be discharged after passing a first sheet-discharging roller via a first sheet-carrying path is directed to another carrying path without being discharged, and is stood by therein. The first sheet and a second sheet (for the second imaging job) which is carried to the first sheet-discharging roller via the first sheet-carrying path after the first sheet, then are concurrently discharged overlappingly. This eliminates needs for delaying image formation for the second imaging job, and for securing time for post-process for the first imaging job. Even if a delay is inevitable, this reduces the delay time greatly and improves the productivity of the image forming apparatus, without reducing its performance wastefully.

The system includes one or more of a plurality of fusers, and radius profiled media handling transport devices arranged in a fashion allowing for improved throughput of media while reducing operating costs. The plurality of fusers allows for the use of individual low capacity fusers that are equal to or less than the overall capacity of the image forming device. Media transport devices transport media on stretch belts across a radius of rollers with a means for providing an adhering force for stabilizing the media to the belt. The rollers are arranged along one side of the frame, along which the media is transported, and a frame may contain an air plenum so as to allow for the drawing of a vacuum through the rollers. The media transport device allows for optimizing a configuration of the image forming device.

    摘要: A sheet transport device is provided with a plurality of sheet transport paths arranged in parallel to one another and a sheet transport assembly for transporting a sheet along the sheet transport path. The transport assembly includes a drive shaft extending normal to the plurality of sheet transport paths, a roller member mounted on the drive shaft in a position corresponding to each of the plurality of sheet transport paths, and a transmission mechanism provided between the drive shaft and roller member for transmitting the rotational force of the drive shaft rotating in a sheet transport direction to the roller member and for shutting off transmission of the rotational force of the roller member rotating in the sheet transport direction to the drive shaft. Accordingly, the misalignment of sheets to be transported simultaneously can be readily corrected. In addition, even if one of the simultaneously transported sheets gets jammed, the jammed sheet can be smoothly removed without affecting transport of the other sheets.

    摘要: A system and method are provided for recovering from print assembly failure in a printer with printed medium assembly capabilities. The method generates a first print set including a plurality of physical medium sheets, and stores the first print set of a first interim stacker. A second print set is generated including a plurality of physical medium sheets. Sheets are accessed sheets from the first interim stacker and assembled with sheets from the second print set, generating a final print set with a plurality of sheets in a first order. The final print set is stored in an output stacker. In the event of a first print set failure, first print set replacement sheets are generating. In one aspect, generating the final print set includes directly merging first print set replacement sheets (bypassing the interim stacker) with sheets from the second print set.
