摘要: A lithium secondary battery that can improve safety of the battery. The lithium secondary battery comprises a jelly-roll type electrode assembly including first and second electrode plates having different polarities, and a separator interposed between the electrode plates. A porous ceramic film is coated on an active material of the first electrode plate, and the porous ceramic film is coated on one surface of an active material uncoated part of the first an outmost electrode plate and the porous ceramic film is not coated on another surface thereof.

The cylindrical battery including a ceramic layer coated on at least one of a cathode plate and an anode plate, and a center pin having a wall thickness of 0.05 to 0.1 mm, which is inserted into the center of an electrode assembly of the battery. The ceramic layer can have a thickness of 6.0 μm to 8.0 μm.

摘要: A lithium secondary battery includes two electrode plates having different polarities and has a ceramic film provided on one electrode plate of the two, wherein the electrode plate coated with the ceramic film has a front edge positioned ahead of a front edge of another electrode plate, and/or has a back edge positioned behind a back edge of the other electrode plate when the two electrode plates are laminated and/or spirally wound. Aspects of the present invention provide such a lithium secondary battery to prevent a short circuit between the ceramic film-employed electrode plates and the electrode collector of electrode plates having different polarities when the ceramic film-employed electrode plates are laminated or spirally wound, thereby improving stability and reliability of the battery.

摘要: Provided is a lithium secondary battery which is stable to penetration of a sharp object, which may occur by external impact. The lithium secondary battery comprises an electrode assembly which is formed by winding a first electrode plate, a second electrode plate, and a separator disposed between the first electrode plate and the second electrode plate; and a can for receiving the electrode assembly, wherein the separator is formed of a ceramic material, a polarity of the first electrode plate is opposite to that of the can, and the outermost part of the first electrode plate is disposed further outside than the outermost part of the second electrode plate.

摘要: A jelly roll electrode assembly, including a ceramic separator instead of a film separator and a secondary battery using the assembly, can be easily wound by forming a long non-coating portion of plate instead of the film separator to prevent cross-winding of the electrode assembly and the mandrel due to a friction by separating the wound electrode assembly from the mandrel, and to improve reliability. The jelly roll electrode assembly, including a positive electrode plate and an negative electrode plate, includes: a ceramic layer coated on at least one of the positive electrode plate or the negative electrode plate to prevent an electrical short between the positive electrode and negative electrode plates; a non-coating portion of the positive electrode and negative electrode plates, having no active material coated thereon, and an extended contact part, of the same electrode material as the non-coating portion, extending from one end of the non-coating portion of the positive electrode plate or the negative electrode plate to contact a mandrel during winding of the assembly.
