Abstract: A wheel brake is disclosed to communicate with at least one wheel of a wheeled article (e.g., a wagon) to prevent the wheel from rotating and the wheeled article from rolling away. A toothed locking gear is attached to a hub of the wheel so that the wheel and the locking gear rotate together. A brake pedal of the wheel brake is pivotally connected to the wagon at a wheel bracket thereof to be rotatable in response to a pushing force applied thereto towards and into locking engagement with the locking gear. A coupler (e.g., a locking pin) of the brake pedal is received between a successive pair of teeth of the toothed locking gear, such that the locking gear and the wheel to which the locking gear is attached are unable to rotate, whereby the wheeled article is held in place.

Abstract: There is disclosed herein a new form of stair lighting system and fixtures. A wire way is disposed along the sides of a stairway, and lighting fixtures each preferably with a plurality of light sources are suitably affixed to the riser sections of the stairway on each side of the stairway. Each light fixture preferably is molded as one piece from a suitable plastic and can include preferably three light sources such as LEDs for directing light toward the riser and toward the adjacent stair step. This arrangement is relatively simple and facilitates installation of suitable stairway lighting. Also disclosed is a new form of lighting fixture for use underneath the arm rest of a theater chair for illuminating adjacent stairs and risers.

Abstract: A pivot assembly employs a pivot block to resist lateral forces and facilitate door alignment. The assembly includes a sleeve, pivot pin, pivot block and jamb bracket. The jamb bracket is connected to a corner between a jamb and a floor. The pivot block mounts on to the jamb bracket with anchors that engage serrations in a slot of the jamb bracket. The pivot block includes two halves resiliently connected at one end and separated by a gap, with a conical socket centered along the gap. A pivot pin is threaded into a sleeve mounted to the lower edge of a door to adjust height. A head on the lower end of the pin engages grooves in the pivot block socket. The pivot block halves separate to accommodate the pivot pin, and to cause the pivot block halves to be anchored in the jamb bracket. To properly align the door, the door is lifted to disengage the pivot pin from the pivot block. Vertical height is adjusted by rotating the pivot pin in the sleeve. Horizontal adjustments are made by pinching or squeezing the pivot block halves in order to slide it along the jamb bracket slot.
