摘要： A method, system, and computer-readable media are provided for pausing a multimedia data stream. Techniques are disclosed that include receiving a pause request message, wherein the pause request message includes a sequence number of a last processed media frame within a multimedia data stream when a pause command was issued from a user. Techniques disclosed further include pausing a transmission of the multimedia data stream to a client device. Moreover, the techniques disclosed include determining a time-out value based on one or more local resources of a server, wherein the time-out value corresponds to a length of time the media stream can be paused. Furthermore, the techniques disclosed include creating a timestamp of when the transmission of the media stream was paused. Additionally, the techniques disclosed include sending the time-out value and the timestamp to the client device.

Techniques disclosed include transmitting multimedia content of a media channel across a plurality of data streams, wherein the plurality of data streams include a random access point data stream, a main data stream, and a low resolution data stream. The techniques disclosed further include detecting a client-condition of a client device and transmitting data packets from a data stream to a client based on the detected client-condition.

摘要： Ways of presenting a custom greeting to a user who retrieves a voicemail that was left by a caller are disclosed. In one embodiment, a voicemail server facilitates storing a voicemail in connection with an identifier that is associated with a calling device that was used by a caller in an attempt to call the user. A user-specific name is automatically retrieved based on the identifier. This name can be retrieved from the user's mobile device or from a remote address book. When the user retrieves his or her messages, the voicemail server presents a custom announcement introducing the message, where the custom announcement is based on the name retrieved.

Data messages may include text messages, picture messages, and video messages. In addition to forwarding data messages, other optional data message forwarding features are provided such as a copy feature that allows for a forwarded message to be copied back to the original addressee, and an invisible feature that prevents a data message sender from knowing that a data message has been forwarded by the data message addressee.

摘要： Disclosed herein is a method for data communication between a wireless-communication system and one or more wireless-communication devices. The wireless-communication system broadcasts a standard pilot signal over a pilot channel. The method comprises (a) the wireless-communication system transmitting a first broadcast-mode message in a coverage area of the wireless-communication system, wherein the first broadcast-mode message indicates that the wireless-communication system will be operating in an alternative broadcast mode, and (b) the wireless-communication system operating in the alternative broadcast mode. Operating in the alternative broadcast involves (i) generating a modified pilot signal comprising the standard pilot signal and a data message inserted in the standard pilot signal and (ii) broadcasting the modified pilot signal via the pilot channel, which enables a wireless-communication device receiving the modified pilot signal to extract the data message therefrom.

摘要： Disclosed herein is a method for data communication between a wireless-communication system and one or more wireless-communication devices. The wireless-communication system broadcasts a standard pilot signal over a pilot channel.
