A method is disclosed for the manufacture of a ceramic material for fillings or dental prostheses, which includes the steps of forming a precipitation product having at least one slightly soluble calcium phosphate compound, which has at least two phases of crystals; the slightly soluble calcium phosphate compound being a replacement for dental tissue. The precipitation product further includes a freely soluble compound dissolvable in the saliva of a patient's mouth and which creates a porous structure within the slightly soluble phase. The pores of this structure are filled by precipitating ions from the patient's saliva. The precipitation product is then sintered and dried, before being explosively compressed to form the ceramic dental filing material.

An electrophotographic recording material is comprised of an electrically conducting film base, an optional, adhesion-promoting, insulating intermediate film and at least one binder-containing photoconductive film that also contains a charge-carrier generating compound and pyrazoline charge-transporting compound represented by the formula ##STR1## in which n denotes zero or 1 andR.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 respectively denote hydrogen or halogen, preferably chlorine or bromine.Such a recording material has a low pre-exposure sensitivity combined with very good photosensitivity, and a low residual charge level in cyclic behavior. The charge-transporting compound has a low tendency to crystallize out in the film.

An electrophotographic recording material is described that comprises an electrically conducting base layer and a photoconductive system deposited thereon, which system comprises an optional insulating intermediate layer, a layer containing a charge-generating compound, and a layer containing a charge-transporting compound mixed with binders, along with any sensitizers, acceptors and usual additives. The photoconductive system contains, as acceptor additive, one or more monomeric or polymeric compounds that have electron-attracting substitutents (halogen, cyano, nitro groups) and that are selected from the group consisting of anthracene, acridine, the anhydrides of phthalic acid, maleic acid, pyromellitic acid, benzophenonetetracarboxylic acid, and the polymers of vinyl chloride, vinylidine chloride and nitrocellulose, in a quantity of 0.2 to 10% by weight based on total coating weight. After erasure of the latent electrostatic image, the recording material has a low residual charge, even when operated cyclically. Background imaging is thereby avoided.

An electrophotographic recording material comprising an electrically conductive base material, an option insulating intermediate layer, and a photoconductive double layer comprised of a charge-generating and a charge-transporting layer employs a pyrimido[5' ,4':5,6]-pyrido-[1,2-a]-benzimidazole transport compound, along with a binder and a dye or pigment, in the charge transporting layer, which compound is represented by the formula I ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are identical or different and denote hydrogen or an R.sub.3 R.sub.4 N group; R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are identical or different and denote (C.sub.1 to C.sub.4)-alkyl, hydroxy-(C.sub.1 to C.sub.4)-alkyl, optionally (C.sub.1 to C.sub.4)-alkyl-substituted phenyl or benzyl, or, together with the nitrogen atoms to which they are bonded, an imidazolyl or a triazolyl group; and R.sub.5 denotes a benzothiazole, a benzoxazole, a benzimidazole or a cyano group. Use of the transport compound makes it possible to adjust the photosensitivity of the recording material to different spectral regions when the material is subjected to electrostatic charging of different polarities.

A novel method for the continuous production of compressed higher density black powder comprising feeding from a feed container means mealy black powder of low density enclosed between upper and lower endless belts into a precompression zone, to produce precompressed black powder, and to expell air contained in said black powder, passing the precompressed black powder through a primary compressing zone containing a primary compression means to achieve a new orientation and displacement of the said black powder, then passing the black powder through a final compressing zone containing a final compression means, while supplying the final pressure to obtain breaking or flow of the crystals as well as crystal lattice displacements of said black powder, and recovering the compressed higher density black powder, each of said primary compression means and said final compression means being capable of building-up compaction pressure as well as being capable of idling, the black powder being moved through said precompression zone, said primary compressing zone and said final compressing zone by synchronized lateral movement of said primary and final compression means towards and away from each other and said black powder being withdrawn from said feed container means onto said lower belt by said movement of said primary and final compression means, whereby the build-up of compaction pressure and the idling time of each of said primary and final compression means is synchronized with the forward movement of said black powder caused by the advancing movement of said primary and final compression means.

The present invention relates to a process for producing bristle materials suitable for inserting into toothbrushes and based on synthetic fibres which have been roughened on their surface by mechanical action, in particular by means of a blast apparatus, the roughening being accomplished on the endless fibre strand after stretching. Using these bristle materials, toothbrushes with an improved plaque-removing action can be produced.
