The trailing portion has a plurality of trailing pads formed thereon adapted for bonding to a trailing edge of a slider. The isolated trailing portion is not affected due to the temperature change, the thermal crown change of the slider is reduced and, in turn, the variation of flying height of the slider is reduce so as to improve read/write performance of the slider. A suspension for a HGA comprises a flexure having a suspension tongue arranged for supporting a slider, which comprising a stainless steel layer and a dielectric layer formed thereon. The dielectric layer has a top surface and bottom surface, a plurality of bonding pads are formed on the top surface at a leading portion of the suspension tongue and arranged for connecting with the slider, and at least two separate supporting pieces are formed on the bottom surface and located at a corresponding position with the bonding pads, thereby releasing stress generated on the bonding pads. The invention also discloses a HGA and a disk drive unit with the same. The invention can release the stress generated on the bonding pads of the suspension, reduce the temperature impact to the suspension, and in turn, reduce thermal crown change of the slider, thereby improving the reading and writing performance.

The flexure has a leading portion and a tailing portion, and has a laminated structure comprising a substrate layer, a dielectric layer, and a grounding layer sandwiched therebetween. The electrical traces comprise at least one pair of write traces, each write trace has a bonding pad positioned on the leading portion, a terminal pad positioned on the tailing portion, and a write wire connecting the bonding pad and the terminal pad, the write wire has at least one portion being furcated into at least two sub wires. The present invention can lower the impedance and decrease the signal transmission loss, and widen the frequency bandwidth simultaneously. The invention also discloses a HGA and a disk drive unit.

A head gimbal assembly (HGA) has an improved interconnection between a head slider and a suspension of the HGA. The interconnection is achieved by using a reverse surface of an air bearing surface of the head slider as bonding surface to provide more space for arranging more slider electrical bonding pads thereon. The head slider is mechanically and electrically connected to the suspension at the bonding surface to have good performance on shocking conditions. The suspension further has an attitude control layer located between the head slider and the suspension. The attitude control layer serves as a datum plate for the head slider lying thereon and supporting the head slider so as to ensure the head slider a good attitude and reduce variation of slider flying height. The present invention also discloses a magnetic disk drive with the improved HGA and a fabricating method for the HGA.
