    摘要: A method of driving a plasma display panel (PDP) and a plasma display device using the same are provided. In the plasma display device, a plurality of scan electrodes formed on the PDP are divided into first and second groups to supply scan signals. When a scan bias voltage is higher in a first subfield in first and second subfields, lowermost voltages of reset signals are higher in the second subfield. According to the plasma display device, when the plurality of scan electrodes are divided into at least two groups to be driven, the lowermost voltages of the reset signals are controlled in accordance with a scan bias voltage so that it is possible to reduce address erroneous discharge in accordance with the loss of wall charges, to prevent the generation of brilliant points, and to improve the picture quality of a displayed image.

Each sub-field includes reset, address, and sustain periods, and a first signal that gradually falls is applied to the scan electrodes during the address period.In the plasma display apparatus, after a rising signal and a falling signal are applied to the scan electrodes, the first signal is applied before or after the scan signal is applied during the address period, thereby preventing a loss of wall charges and performing stable address discharges and sustain discharges.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a method of driving a plasma display panel and a plasma display apparatus employing the same. In the plasma display apparatus, a plurality of scan electrodes formed in a plasma display panel are divided into first and second groups and then supplied with scan signals. When a scan bias voltage supplied in a first subfield of first and second subfields is higher than that supplied in a second subfield of the first and second subfields, a lowest voltage of a reset signal supplied in the second subfield is higher than that supplied in the first subfield. In accordance with the plasma display apparatus of the present invention, the lowest voltage of the reset signal is controlled according to the scan bias voltage in dividing the plurality of scan electrodes into two or more groups and driving them. Accordingly, an address erroneous discharge due to the loss of wall charges can be reduced, the occurrence of spots can be prevented and therefore the image quality of a display image can be improved.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a plasma display apparatus. In this plasma display apparatus, a plurality of scan electrodes are divided into first and second groups. An address period includes first and second group scan periods in which scan signals are supplied to the first and second groups, respectively. Scan bias voltages supplied to the first and second groups in at least one of the first and second group scan periods are different from each other. In at least one of a plurality of subfields constituting one frame, a stabilization signal is supplied to at least one of the first and second groups before the scan signal is supplied after a reset signal is supplied. Accordingly, a reduction in the image quality of a display image due to the occurrence of a spot erroneous discharge or address erroneous discharge can be prevented.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a plasma display apparatus. The plasma display apparatus includes a first layer and a second layer over an upper substrate of a plasma display panel. The first layer emits light having a peak at a first wavelength region with light emitted from a discharge space. The second layer emits light having a peak at a second wavelength region lower than the first wavelength region with light emitted from a discharge space. The first layer and the second layer are disposed over a dielectric layer of the upper substrate. The plurality of scan electrodes are divided into first and second groups and then supplied with scan signals, and scan bias voltages supplied to the first and second groups in at least one period of an address period are different from each other. Accordingly, the occurrence of address erroneous discharge due to the loss of wall charges can be reduced and the discharge efficiency can be enhanced. Further, consumption power for panel driving can be saved and driving margin of a panel can be secured sufficiently.
