摘要： The present invention provides, in a car navigation system, a unit of notifying a user of the update contents of map data prior to the downloading of the map data. A vehicle-mounted terminal sets a difference update area in accordance with a selection made by a user and sends a difference update request to a map updating server. If an update mode in this case is “update after outline display”, the vehicle-mounted terminal downloads an outline update map from the map updating server. The outline update map is displayed on a display unit of a display. Here, when a download start button displayed on the display unit is depressed, the vehicle-mounted terminal downloads a detailed update map from the map updating server. The detailed update map is then displayed on the display unit of the display. Furthermore, an updating process is performed on the map data stored in a terminal DB.

摘要： A disk cartridge has a casing composed of upper and lower casings 1,2 which are adapted to rotatably receive therein a disk-like medium 4, a shutter 5 attached to the casing so as to open and shut openings for driving shaft insertion holes 11, 12 and magnetic head insertion holes 12, 22 formed in the upper and lower casings 1,2, a disk-like medium taking-out port 15 formed in the casing and a cover member 3 for opening and closing the disk-like medium taking-out port 15, wherein the cover member 3 is disposed in the casing at a position opposing the shutter 5; a disk-like medium placing portion is provided by forming tongue-like projections 36 in the cover member 3 to support the disk-like member 4 from its lower surface side; the cover member 3 is so arranged as to slide between the upper and lower casings 1,2, whereby the disk-like member 4 can be taken out by simply drawing the cover member 3 from the disk-like medium taking-out port 15 or the disk-like medium 4 can be placed by simply inserting it, and operability in exchanging the disk-like medium 4 can be done extremely well. The lower casing 2 is so constructed that a recessed face portion 26 for receiving the tongue-like projections 36 formed in the cover member 3 is formed in an inner face which opposes the disk-like medium 4, whereby the strength of the casing can be well maintained; easy taking-out and insertion of the disk-like medium are permissible, and good operability of exchanging the disk-like medium is obtainable.

摘要： A disc cartridge of a three-piece structure capable of enhancing moldability and rigidity of a center frame. The center frame having a square-like shape is interposedly arranged between an upper plate and a lower plate and has a receiving space defined therein for receiving a disc-like medium. The upper and lower plates are provided on four corners thereof with fixing bosses respectively. The center frame is formed on opposite surfaces thereof with fitting recesses in which the bosses are fitted, respectively. The center frame is formed on each corner thereof with a thin-wall portion having a reduced thickness of 50 to 80% based on a whole thickness of the center frame.

摘要： An actuator arm assembly in which a spacer is designed to absorb a stress occurrable during a caulking operation so that the spacer will not be deformed. The actuator arm assembly includes a base; an actuator arm rotatably mounted on the base and having a first hole at one end thereof; a load beam supporting a magnetic head at one end thereof and having a second hole at the other end; and a spacer firmly secured to the other end of the load beam and fixedly caulked to the one end of the actuator arm. The spacer includes a flat portion, a cylindrical portion integral with the flat portion, and an annular groove formed between the cylindrical portion and the flat portion. An inner diameter of the cylindrical portion at its distal end portion is slightly smaller than the diameter of the caulking ball.

摘要： An elastic lifter arranged on an inner surface of a casing of a disc cartridge to exert a pressing force on a disc is formed integrally with the casing and into a plate-like shape in such a manner that a proximal end thereof is connected to the casing and a distal end thereof is rendered free. Such construction permits the pressing force to be kept constant for a long period of time and effectively prevents damage to the disc, to thereby substantially improve durability and reliability of the disc cartridge while significantly decreasing the number of parts, facilitating assembling of the disc cartridge, and attains a decrease in manufacturing cost. The lifter may be formed at a proximal end thereof with a decreased thickness, to thereby facilitate bending of the lifter.

摘要： A serial selection circuit is disclosed for sequentially selecting a word line in a semiconductor memory. Flipflops (latch circuits) for respectively holding the state are connected to each word line W0 to W1023. These flipflops are sequentially activated in response to two-phase non-overlap clock signals, and then deactivated. This serial selection circuit has the circuit structure being highly simplified compared with the conventional row decoder, so that the occupied area on the semiconductor chip is substantially reduced.
