Abstract: In some examples, an acoustic headset for providing hearing protection, includes: a first auditory cup; a second auditory cup; at least one of a stirrup or headband interconnecting the first and second auditory cups; at least one speaker integrated within at least one of the first auditory cup or the second auditory cup; a microphone that receives sound, wherein the microphone is coupled to the acoustic headset; and wherein at least one of the first and second auditory cups comprises a digital component for transmission and receipt of digital wireless audio communications, and wherein at least one of the first and second auditory cups comprises an analog component for transmission and receipt of analog wireless audio communications.
