Abstract: A floor covering composition comprises chlorinated polyethylene + polyvinyl chloride, vinyl chloride/vinyl acetate copolymer or a mixture of polyvinyl chloride with polyvinyl acetate + filler + plasticizer. The filler may be selected from clays (e.g. kaolin), calcium carbonate, barytes, asbestine, talc, calcium sulphate, silica, mica, titanium dioxide, carbon black, phthalocyanine blue or green, chrome yellow, pulverized marble or limestone, asbestos, cork and wood flour. The plasticizer may be any of the monomeric esters of phosphoric, phthalic, adipic or sebacic acids, and/or an epoxidized drying oil, e.g. epoxidized soya bean oil. Optional ingredients are stabilizers such as complexes and/or salts of Pb, Sn, Ba, Cd, Zn or Na, and lubricants such as stearic acid, stearamide or polyethylene wax.
