The present invention relates to artificial leather, and more particularly, to artificial leather for automobile seat covers having excellent surface appearance and a method of manufacturing the artificial leather. When the artificial leather of the present invention is manufactured, surface treatment is performed before embossing molding that imparts a texture and cushioning similar to natural leather to artificial leather. Accordingly, the artificial leather of the present invention may be provided with a surface treatment layer having a uniform thickness, thereby exhibiting excellent surface appearance.

An artificial leather includes a resin layer as the surface and a base fabric connected to the resin layer as the substrate. The base fabric comprises at least two monolayer structures arranged in an orderly manner as two laminates. Each monolayer structure is woven with some of the warp yarns and/or weft yarns in such layer or with some of the warp yarns and/or weft yarns in one or more other layers to form a number of connecting points, such that at least two monolayer structures arranged in an orderly manner as two laminates are connected with each other in the weaving process, forming a multi-layer integrated base fabric. The artificial leather incorporates a number of air vent holes distributed in the resin layer and the base fabric in the direction of thickness while retaining mechanical properties of tensile strength and tear resistance.

The second composition accounts for 5% to 70% of the total weight of the composite fiber. The invented product is a fleecebacked laminate that is suitable as a single-ply fleecebacked roofing membrane. The laminate consists of the following: 1) a thermoplastic reinforced planar sheet, 2) a needle punched fleece formed on both sides of the thermoplastic reinforced planar sheet, and 3) a thermoplastic polymeric layer extruded onto one side of the fleece. The fleece is formed by needle punching fibers through the reinforced planar sheet. The reinforced planar sheet serves as a common supporting base the resulting two-side fleece. The thermoplastic polymeric layer is embedded with one side of the fleece fibers. The thermoplastic polymeric layer serves as the top layer of the roofing membrane, and the second side of exposed fleece serves as a felt. The thermoplastic polymeric layer is preferably comprised of an extruded PVC substrate, compounded to have excellent weather resistance, printability and to be nonflammable. The fleece fibers are preferably composed of polyester. The thermoplastic reinforced planar sheet is preferably a scrim that is extrusion coated with a thermoplastic substrate that is compounded to have excellent weather resistance, and to be nonflammable.
