    Abstract: Driven lock systems, fenestration units including the driven lock systems, and methods of operating the driven lock systems are described herein. The driven lock systems as described herein offer a combination of powered or motorized operation in addition to manual operation, with the opportunity for a user to manually switch the lock assembly between its locked and unlocked states as needed. The need for manual operation may arise if, for example, the system loses power, the controls of the system are unavailable, etc.

The lock assemblies offer a lock assembly construction that is capable of being assembled, installed, and used in a purely manual mode (i.e., in the absence of any driving unit such as, e.g., a motor, solenoid, etc.) or that may be assembled, installed, and used with a driving unit such that the lock assembly can be operated manually or in a driven mode, with the manual and driven modes of operation being unaffected by each other.

    Abstract: The fenestration unit monitoring apparatus with tethers are configured to retrofit an existing fenestration unit to incorporate components that are capable of monitoring the locked or unlocked status of the existing lock assembly and/or the panel position status of a movable panel of the fenestration unit. The fenestration unit monitoring apparatus include a lock status sensor located on a tether such that the lock status sensor can be positioned within an existing fenestration unit lock assembly when a monitor housing of the fenestration unit monitoring apparatus is located on the fenestration unit adjacent the fenestration unit lock assembly.

    Abstract: Embodiments include insulating glazing units with a photovoltaic cell structure disposed within and related methods. In some embodiments, the insulating glazing unit can include a first transparent pane and a second transparent pane. The insulating glazing unit can further include an internal space disposed between the first and second transparent panes and a spacer unit disposed between the first and second transparent panes. The spacer unit can be disposed adjacent to the perimeter of the first transparent pane and the second transparent pane. The spacer unit can have an inward surface facing the internal space. A photovoltaic cell structure can be disposed between the first and second transparent panes. The photovoltaic cell structure can be disposed over at least a portion of the inward surface of the spacer unit. The photovoltaic cell structure can include a photovoltaically active surface facing the internal space. Other embodiments are also included herein.
