Abstract: Architectures and techniques are presented that can leverage safety metrics such as crime or health-based statistics at various geographic locations to supplement or improve navigation application searches or results. For example, navigation search results can be tagged with safety metric alert indicia if a location associated with a search result (or a location associated with a path to the point of interest of the search result) does not satisfy a defined safety metric. As another example, navigation search results can be generated as a function of the defined safety metric rather than merely as a function of distance, thereby operating to filter results that do not satisfy the safety metric, whether filtering a particular point of interest or filtering a path to a selected point of interest.

Abstract: A method includes monitoring environmental conditions surrounding a moving vehicle, using an on-board sensor of the moving vehicle, detecting that at least one of the environmental conditions surrounding the moving vehicle is likely to impair visibility for a driver of the moving vehicle, based on an output of the on-board sensor, acquiring static map data for a location surrounding the moving vehicle, acquiring real time sensor data for the location surrounding the moving vehicle, where the real time sensor data comprises outputs of a plurality of on-board sensors of a plurality of other vehicles, generating an augmented reality view of the location surrounding the moving vehicle, using the static map data, the real time sensor data, and the output of the on-board sensor, and displaying the augmented reality view of the location surrounding the moving vehicle on a display within the moving vehicle.

Further embodiments can include detecting a second group of communication devices in a second geographical area, and determining the network parameter does not exceed a network parameter threshold resulting in a first determination. Additional embodiments can include amplifying a second portion of the first group of wireless signals associated with the first network device based on the first determination resulting in a first group of amplified wireless signals, and transmitting the first group of amplified wireless signals to a first portion of the second group of communication devices.
