Abstract:
A method that incorporates teachings of the subject disclosure may include, for example, capturing from a plurality of media sources information describing a plurality of media content offered at the plurality of media sources, generating a plurality of exemplars of the plurality of media content offered at the plurality of media sources based on the information captured from the plurality of media sources, presenting the plurality of exemplars at a display, receiving a selection of a first exemplar of the plurality of exemplars, and presenting a portion of first media content associated with a first media source of the plurality of media sources associated with the first exemplar based on the information captured from the plurality of media sources responsive to the selection of the first exemplar. Other embodiments are disclosed.
Abstract:
A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a system having a controller that receives an indication of a resolution preference for presenting first media content received in a digital stream, wherein the digital stream comprises the first media content and second media content, and wherein the digital stream has a bandwidth limit. The controller, responsive to receiving the first media content adjusts a first resolution of the first media content to achieve an adjusted resolution. The controller also adjusts a second resolution of the second media content to offset, at least in part, the adjusted resolution, wherein the first resolution and the second resolution are adjusted without exceeding the bandwidth limit of the digital stream. Other embodiments are disclosed.
Abstract:
A system that incorporates the subject disclosure may include, for example, a device to perform operations including determining, a first playback latency of a streaming media signal at a first media processor and a second playback latency of the same signal at a second media processor. A coordinated time is determined according to a target latency not less than a greater of the first and second playback latencies. A first buffer, when adjusted by a first buffer value, causes an in-content reference to be encountered at the coordinated time during playback by the first media processor. Likewise, a second buffer, when adjusted by a second buffer value, causes the in-content reference to be encountered at the coordinated time during playback by the second media processor. The suitably adjusted buffers allow playback of the streaming media to be synchronized between the first and second media processors. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract:
A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a system having a controller to allocate between a video and audio quality in a multimedia presentation and to utilize a resultant bandwidth as a result of allocation to enhance an audio or video quality in the multimedia presentation in response to a user selection among levels of video quality and audio quality. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract:
A media processor having a controller operable to recognize a portion of a video stream in an interactive television network having video compression artifacts corresponding to a stored model and perform model-based video correction of the portion recognized using synthetically generated images of objects in a captured video scene. Other embodiments are disclosed.
