Abstract: A freight container configured to fit in an aircraft cargo hold includes a floor element. First and second parallel side walls extend away from first and second opposite edges of the floor element base surface. A top wall, parallel to a floor element resting surface, extends between edges of the first and second side walls, which edges are remote from the first and second edges. A front wall extends between the first and second side walls from a base surface third edge to a top wall front edge. The front wall has a first front wall portion, extending from the base surface third edge at a first angle of at least 90° to the resting surface. The front wall has a second front wall portion, extending from the top wall front edge at a second angle of less than 180° and more than 90° to the top wall.

Abstract: A method for installing a component fastening structure on an attachment structure where the fastening structure includes a unit including an elongate body, a first strut detachably coupled between the elongate body and a first fastening for fastening the unit to the attachment structure, a second strut detachably coupled at an inclined angle between the elongate body and the first fastening. The first and/or second strut are variably positionable relative to the elongate body and are lockable in an end position. A jig including a support structure is detachably coupled to the fastening structure elongate body, and a height adjustment device on which the support structure is mounted, is adjusted to arrange the first elongate body at a pre-determined height. The jig is moved relative to the attachment structure to engage the first fastening with an attachment structure first fixture and fastening the first fastening to the first fixture.

Abstract: A load carrier for an aircraft cargo hold includes a bottom element with a support surface, the load carrier being movable over a floor surface in a floor plane while the support surface faces the floor surface, the bottom element having a base surface. The support surface has rolling elements rotatable about a rotation axis oriented where a parallel to the axis runs parallel to the floor plane, and the rolling elements being retained on the bottom element where the rotation axis of each of the rolling elements can be rotated about a vertical axis running perpendicularly to the floor plane. A load carrier can include a bottom element, the support surface of which has outlet openings, through which air can exit from the support surface to form an air cushion under the support surface. A load carrier can include a bottom element the support surface of which has slider elements.

Abstract: An aircraft seat fastening assembly, due to the use of electroactive polymers, facilitates the compensation of tolerances and the fastening of aircraft seats in the passenger cabin of the aircraft. A fixing actuator contains the electroactive polymer and can be switched electrically between a fixed state, in which a movement of a fastening region is not possible, and a non-fixed state, in which a movement of the fastening region is possible in a vertical direction. The aircraft seats can thereby be displaced in a continuously variable manner along the aircraft seat fastening rail. The aircraft seats can also be locked in a fully automated manner, and possibly from a central location. It is also conceivable to individually control the aircraft seats and/or the group(s) of seats.

Abstract: A coupling member for coupling modules with each other. The coupling member comprises a coupling portion, which in turn has a coupling rim and at least two hook members disposed on the coupling rim. The coupling portion substantially corresponds in its outer contour to a spherical segment of a sphere with a predetermined spherical radius, wherein the coupling rim represents a circular disk of the spherical segment. In this case, an outer radius of the coupling rim is smaller than or equal to the spherical radius. The at least two hook members, in a lateral view, at least partially follow the outer contour of the spherical cap of the spherical segment. The at least two hook members are engageable with the hook members of a coupling portion of a second coupling member.

Abstract: A fastening system for securing a component includes a first securing element having an engagement end and external toothing, a second securing element having elastic clamp members arranged about a common axis and having internal toothing facing the axis, and a fixing member. The clamps members assume a radial position relative to the axis that is variable due to their elasticity. The clamps are designed such that the second securing element can be pushed onto the engagement end such that the teeth of the engagement end and the clamps snap into each other. The clamps move from a first radial position to an external second radial position to engage or disengage a snapped-in state when shifting the external toothing and the first internal toothing to each other.

Abstract: A fastening system for fastening a first component variably spaced on a second component has a main body, a slide, and an elongate locking element. The main body has a mounting surface for mounting on the first component and a locating surface, through which an elongate depression passes, for fastening to the second component. The main body has a slideway to movably support the slide along the depression and the locating surface. Facing sides of the slide and the depression each have a first tooth system. The locking element fits into the elongate depression and has a second tooth system on two mutually opposite longitudinal sides and engages between the depression first tooth system and the locking element and between the slide and the locking element in a first alignment within the depression and releases it in a second alignment. The mounting surface and locating surfaces are not parallel.

Abstract: In order to improve and facilitate shimming between two parts, a deformable shim is provided that comprises a main structure of an at least partly cellular region. The main structure is compressible by plastic deformation from an initial volume to a deformed volume, wherein the deformed volume is smaller than the initial volume. In a deformed state, the main structure maintains the deformed volume without further or continuing compression force. Further, the main structure is arrangeable between a first aircraft component and a second aircraft component to create a predefined distance between the first and the second aircraft component.
