    摘要: To attach a suspension assembly to the actuator, the suspension is connected to a mount plate. The inner diameter of the swaging boss in this mount plate differs depending upon if it is on a lower or upper suspension of an actuator arm. After setting only the mount plates with bosses of a larger inner diameter and performing the first swage, the mount plates of the smaller inner diameter are set and a second swage is performed in a different direction. Even when performing this bidirectional swage, a boss caulked with the first swage is subjected to no deformation after a later swage and therefore a stable swage is possible.

    摘要: The present invention provides a stacked type actuator arm assembly equipped with a structure for easily fixing lead wires between a coil and a flexible cable. A stacked type actuator arm assembly that is used in a magnetic disk storage is equipped at the coil support portion of a coil support spacer with a small hole through which lead wires and are inserted. Since the spacer is stamped from a flat sheet, a structure for holding the lead wires cannot be freely formed as in a die casting method, but formation of the small hole according to the present invention is easy. During manufacturing, after the lead wires and have been inserted through the small hole, if they are processed in the following fabrication step, there is no possibility that force will be applied to the boundary portion between a coil and the lead wire extending from a wire of the coil which would peel a wire of the coil off. In addition, in the magnetic disk storage being operated, there is no possibility that the lead wires will move and then touch other components.

An aperture is formed in a front portion of the load beam. The aperture permits the tab to be machined in a desired shape. An aperture is formed behind the aperture. The aperture is used to clamp a head in a wire bonding step for the head. The apertures and are not formed in an integrally contiguous manner but are separated from each other by a bridge portion.

The actuator mechanism includes an approximately circular coil and a simple shaped magnet, and is capable of displaying adequate performance required for the magnetic disk drive. According to one embodiment, the magnetic disk drive includes an actuator mechanism which has an approximately circular coil and an approximately rectangular magnet. The long axis direction of the rectangular magnet is oriented in parallel to a straight line connecting the center of the inner circle of the circular coil in a state in which the actuator is positioned at the outermost circumference of a data area and the center of the inner circle of the circular coil in a state in which the actuator is positioned at the innermost circumference of the data area.

The load beam has a recessed portion opened to the side opposing the magnetic disk and having an opening area larger than the area of the back surface of the slider opposing the flexure. The slider is provided in the recessed portion so that the position of the surface of the load beam is between a virtual surface including the surface of the slider opposing the magnetic disk and a virtual surface including the slider back surface.
