    摘要: A method of detecting abnormality in an exhaust gas concentration sensor in an internal combustion engine equipped with a fuel supply control system which controls a quantity of fuel to be supplied to the engine in a feedback manner responsive to a value of an air-fuel ratio correction value set in response to an output signal from the sensor. The sensor output signal is monitored from the time a first predetermined period of time has elongated from the start of the engine. The sensor is diagnosed as abnormal if the output signal has continually maintained a substantially constant value over a second predetermined time period elapsed following the first predetermined time period. The first predetermined time period corresponds to a time lag in rise of the output signal. The second predetermined time period is set such that the sum of the first and second preetermined time periods is shorter than a period of time within which the sensor becomes completely activated after the start of the engine.

    摘要: The present invention provides a diagnostic system for an internal combustion engine which detects abnormalities of input/output objects used in controlling operation of the engine when the engine is in respective predetermined operating conditions, and carries out respective predetermined fail-safe actions when abnormalities of the input/output are detected. When an abnormality of the input/output objects was detected on the last occasion and has also been detected on the present occasion, and at the same time it is determined that a change in the operating environment of the engine has occurred between when the abnormality was detected on the last occasion and when it has been determined on the present occasion, occurrence of the abnormality is finally determined.

    摘要: Fuel injections are sequentially effected into cylinders of a multicylinder internal combustion engine in predetermined sequence in synchronism with pulses of a predetermined crank angle position signal from engine rotational angle sensing means. If no TDC signal pulse is generated between an immediately preceding pulse and a present pulse of a cylinder-discriminating signal, a simultaneous fuel injections are effected into all the engine cylinders upon generation of the present pulse of the cylinder-discriminating signal. Preferably, the engine rotational angle sensing means is determined to be abnormal when the simultaneous fuel injections have been effected consecutively a predetermined number of times.

    摘要: An electromagnetic valve used in controlling the amount of supplementary air supplied to an internal combustion engine to control the idling operation thereof is controlled by a current controller. The actual value of current flowing through the electromagnetic valve is compared with a predetermined value when a control signal, which is applied to the controller to regulate the opening of the electromagnetic valve, and the actual value of the current do not exhibit a predetermined correlation. It is determined whether an abnormality in the current controller is a disconnection or a short circuit based on whether the actual value of the current is greater than the predetermined value.

    摘要: Fuel injection is started through a first one of fuel injection valves, and a time counter counts a period of time elapsed from the start of fuel injection through the first one valve. Fuel injection is started through a second one of the fuel injection valves when a predetermined period of time elapses after the start of fuel injection through the first one valve. The fuel injection through the first one valve is terminated in response to completion of counting of the time counter, and the time counter is restarted to count a difference between a desired fuel injection period of time for the first one valve and a desired fuel injection period of time for the second one valve. The fuel injection through the second one valve is terminated in response to completion of counting of the restarted time counter.

    摘要: An electronically-controlled fuel injection system having a synchronous counter which receives main injection time data corresponding to an amount of fuel to be injected synchronously to engine revolutions, and an asynchronous counter which receives increment injection time data corresponding to an amount of fuel to be injected at a selected time interval asynchronously to the engine revolutions, wherein the synchronous counter is operated for a period of time equal to the main injection time data upon receiving a synchronous signal which is generated synchronously to the engine revolutions, while the asynchronous counter is operated for a period of time equal to the increment injection time data upon receiving an asynchronous signal which is generated at the selected time interval, so as to open a fuel injection valve by pulses which are output from the respective counters during the operations thereof. The electronically-controlled fuel injection system is provided with timers which ad a predetermined period of time after the end of the operation of each of said respective counters, and delay means operating when, during the operation of one of the two counters, a synchronous signal or an asynchronous signal for operating the other counter has been generated to delay the input of the signal to the other counter until the timekeeping of the timer ends.

    摘要: An engine control system includes a pulse generator for generating a synchronous pulse signal synchronously with the speed of rotation of an engine, a timer for generating a timer pulse signal of a constant period, and a microcomputer having an interrupt input terminal for receiving the pulse signals as interrupt signals and operable to start processing operations in response to the interrupt signals, so that a number of controlled objects of the engine can be controlled on the basis of data indicative of operating conditions of the engine. Data is processed in response to an interrupt caused by the synchronous pulse signal to control a first-group controlled object of the number of controlled objects and setting a flag to request processing of data items related to the first-group controlled object. Data is then processed in response to an interrupt caused by the timer pulse signal to control a second-group controlled object of the number of controlled objects and setting a flag to request processing of a data item related to the second-group controlled object. In the absence of the interrupts, a plurality of predetermined data items and the data items requested to be processed by the flags are processed.

At each start of the time-counting from the computing means, a different one of the electrical devices is selected and the operation thereof is started, an interrupt signal is generated when the time-counting means has counted up, and the operation of the selected different one of the electrical devices is deenergized in response to the generation of the interrupt signal. Preferably, the time-counting means comprises a signal time counter.
