    摘要: A vehicular occupant restraint system includes a distance sensor, an electromagnetic wave radiation-type occupant sensor, a controller, and an airbag drive circuit. When the controller predicts a collision and determines it is unavoidable based on the output of the distance sensor, the controller sends an instruction signal to the occupant sensor to determine the seating condition of an occupant. Then, the airbag drive circuit performs an airbag deployment control in accordance with the determined seating condition. This system thus reduces power consumption and electromagnetic wave radiation of the occupant sensor.

    摘要: An apparatus for protecting an occupant in a vehicle includes a pair of image sensors for taking images of an area on a seat in the vehicle. Transverse-direction shifts between corresponding portions of the images are calculated. Longitudinal-direction positions of objects whose images are in the portions of the images taken by the image sensors are measured in response to the calculated transverse-direction shifts. A longitudinal-direction position of an occupant on the seat is decided in response to the measured longitudinal-direction positions of the objects. Occupant protecting operation at a time of occurrence of a collision of the vehicle is changed in response to the decided longitudinal-direction position of the occupant. From the measured longitudinal-direction positions of the objects, one corresponding to a highest position with respect to the vehicle and being in front of the seat is selected as a longitudinal-direction position of a head of the occupant.

The apparatus includes: an imaging device for capturing a periphery image; a storage medium for storing history data comprising one of the periphery image and information on an object-in-periphery, the storage medium pre-storing a vehicle image; a display screen having a real-time displaying part for displaying thereon the periphery image with distortion of the periphery image being uncorrected, and a history displaying part for displaying thereon the vehicle image and a history image being produced based on the history data; and a drawing section configured to superimposingly draw the vehicle image and the history image provided with the distortion that the periphery image has, such that the object-in-periphery shown in the history image is continuously connected to that shown in the periphery image.

    摘要: An image correction apparatus, an image correction method and a transformation map making method are disclosed. The apparatus includes an imaging device, a memory section, a corrected image creation section and a display device. The imaging device has an optical axis inclined upward or downward with respect to a ground surface, and captures an image. The corrected image creation section transforms the captured image into a corrected image in accordance with a transformation map stored in the memory section, thereby making a correction on inclination of a display object with respect to a vertical direction. The display device displays the corrected image.

    摘要: An imaging unit photographs an image of a periphery of the vehicle. An object detection unit obtains image information related to a brightness or a color of the image and position information on the obtained image from the image and detects object from the image information according to a specific feature of the image. A storing unit prestores a vehicle image and history data, which include the image information associated with the position information. A graphic unit overlaps the vehicle image and an image produced according to the history data and converts the overlapped image to be viewed from a predetermined viewpoint. A peripheral image display region indicates a present periphery of the vehicle. A history display region is adjacent to the peripheral image display region for indicating the converted image and the detected object at a position according to the position information.
