摘要: In producing high-quality steel with use of copper-containing steel scraps as an iron source, the copper-containing steel scraps are melted with addition of carbon to produce hot metal for steelmaking, then, copper contained in the hot metal is removed by sulfur-containing flux, and sulfur contained in the hot metal is removed. With this method, the copper in the steel scraps can be removed efficiently and without the need for large facilities. Preferably, the sulfur-containing flux used is flux having Na2S as the main component. The treatment for removing copper in the hot metal is preferably carried out with use of refining equipment with mechanical stirrer or by the flux injecting method. Besides, it is preferable that a shaft furnace having a coke bed formed inside is used to produce hot metal having a higher concentration of sulfur for the copper removal treatment.

摘要: A steel continuous casting method using a continuous caster that includes a pair of upper magnetic poles and a pair of lower magnetic poles is disclosed. 摘要: A method of producing an ultra-low-carbon steel by using a vacuum degasser on a molten steel has the steps of conducting vacuum decarburization to attain a predetermined level of carbon content, e.g., 25 ppm or below, in the molten steel while progressively reducing the pressure in said vacuum degasser, conducting addition of hydrogen in which hydrogen is dissolved in said molten steel while said pressure is temporarily elevated to 20 Torr or above, and conducting final decarburization after reducing said pressure to 2 Torr or below. The addition of hydrogen may be conducted to meet the following conditions:[H].gtoreq.{([C]-[C]final)/5}+4wherein [H] represents the hydrogen content (ppm) in said molten steel in the state after the addition of hydrogen, [C] represents the carbon content (ppm) in the molten steel in the state after the addition of hydrogen, and [C] final represents the final carbon content (ppm) to be obtained.
