    摘要: An automatic maintenance unit for a static print head used in a drop on demand inkjet printer is provided by a combination of a removable capping element to abut and cover ink ejection nozzles and a movable wiping element including a wiper to remove residual ink after removal of the capping element and before commencement of a print run, thereby avoiding the need for manual capping and decapping and cleaning of the print head and speeding up the printing cycle. The capping clement is preferably mounted pivotally so that it can be swung between a capping position between print runs and a retracted position during print runs, and the wiper is preferably mounted on a frame to move outwards and upwards from a retracted position adopted during print runs, to a position above the nozzles and then downwards across the nozzles to clean them prior to a print run before returning to the retracted position.

    摘要: A connector for connecting a carbon dioxide cylinder to a carbonation apparatus includes a female part having a cylindrical recess for receiving a male part carried by the carbonation apparatus. An axially movable actuator extending through the male part projects through a central passage at the bottom of the cylindrical recess to engage a valve member for opening the valve. The actuator is in three parts and the center part itself forms a valve which is closed when the actuator is depressed for supplying carbon dioxide from the cylinder to a carbonation chamber but which, when the actuator is released, may open response to pressure in the carbonation chamber for supplying carbon dioxide therefrom to another part of the apparatus, such as a concentrate supply device.

    摘要: A carbonation method and apparatus is described in which carbonation is achieved by forcing carbon dioxide in gaseous form from an atmosphere thereof downwardly into a body of water to be carbonated. This may be achieved by a vaned rotor rotatable about a horizontal axis or other means. The carbon dioxide atmosphere is preferably maintained at a pressure of about 100 psig (6.8 bars). The degree of carbonation may be varied by varying the time for which the carbonation operation is carried on. A flavor concentrate supply means, containing various flavors, is pressurized for the supply of the concentrate utilizing what would otherwise be waste carbon dioxide gas from the carbonation chamber after completion of the carbonation operation.

    摘要: Apparatus for producing carbonation flavoured drinks has a number of features. Water introduced to a water break from the mains supply holds a value open whilst the carbonation chamber is being filled. A concentrate supply includes a metering chamber into which concentrate flows under gravity and from which concentrate is discharged by gas pressure. The concentrate containers include means to indicate the type of concentrate therein and the degree of carbonation of water is controlled by detecting this indication. Change-over from one gas supply bottle to another is achieved utilising the pressure of the gas in the bottle to displace an element which effects the change-over. Concentrate in supply containers thereof is cooled by coolant used from cooling the carbonation chamber.

    摘要: A connector for a bottle of concentrate for a carbonating apparatus has a cylindrical body the upper end of which carries a structure defining a number of radially extending baffle and a central opening through which a dip tube may be inserted into the bottle. A latching ring for connecting the connector to the carbonation apparatus is carried by the body at a position outwardly thereof and lower than the baffle structure. The latching ring is constructed to snap on to a corresponding boss on the carbonation apparatus. The bottle is detached from the carbonation apparatus, after exhaustion of the contents, by removal of a tear-off strip which connects the latching ring to the body of the cxonnector. To facilitate connection of a fresh bottle of concentrate to the apparatus, the apparatus includes a housing which is detachable from the remainder of the apparatus and which carries the dip tube and other elements co-operable with the connector for attaching the bottle.
