Abstract: Provided are methods and systems for distributing application traffic. A method for distributing application traffic may commence with relaying a first service request for a first service session from a service gateway to a server. The first service request may be received from a host and may be associated with a service request time. The method may further include receiving, from the server, a service response. The service response may be associated with a service response time. The method may continue with calculating a service processing time based on the service request time and the service response time and comparing the service processing time with an expected service processing time. The method may further include receiving, from the host, a second service request for a second service session. The method may continue with selectively relaying the second server request to the server based on the service processing time.

Abstract: A system, computer readable medium, and method are provided for a resource management in a cloud architecture. The method includes the steps of collecting a first time stamped data (TSD), and a second TSD, and generating a prediction model based on the first TSD and the second TSD. The method further includes collecting a third TSD, and predicting a fourth TSD based on the prediction model and the third TSD. With more data are obtained via the prediction, the resource management is more efficient and accurate.

Abstract: Methods, apparatus and articles of manufacture are disclosed to retire hosts in virtual server rack deployments for virtual computing environments. An example method includes determining, via a processor, a workload associated with a physical host in a virtualized rack in response to a request to retire the physical host, the workload implemented by a virtual computing environment including the virtualized rack. The example method also includes determining, via the processor, a projected impact of retiring the physical host on the workload. The example method also includes presenting information representative of the projected impact.

Abstract: A client request originating from a client device and destined for a server via a network is intercepted. The server is configured to perform a service in response to the client request. A determination is made of whether the request action and the request resource of the client request matches a pattern action and a pattern resource of a pattern in a rule. Based on a determination there is a match, a determination is made of whether a threshold trigger condition in the rule is satisfied based. In response to the threshold trigger condition being satisfied, a determination is made of whether a reset condition in the rule is not satisfied. In response to the reset condition not being satisfied, at least one rule action associated with the pattern is performed, wherein performing the at least one rule action comprises returning an errored response back to the client device.

Abstract: The present invention relates to systems and methods for best server selection for real-time data transmission are provided. The systems and methods include an access controller, and an application which receives information of a selection of several best servers with which to transmit real-time packets to. The application sends a request to the access controller for server information before call initiation. The access controller identifies servers with the same ISP, and then selects a regional server within this group of same ISP servers. Subsequently the geo optimizer identifies servers closest to the application from among the regional servers. The respective loads of each of the closest servers are analyzed to select only servers that are likely to provide satisfactory quality of service. A monitor within the central IDC is able to measure load conditions of each server and provide this load information to the access controller.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention include a method, system and computer program product for the continuous cognitive discovery and management of cloud services in an aggregated distributed application. One method includes receiving a textual specification of cloud service criteria, searching a registry for cloud services corresponding to the textual specification and presenting locating cloud services corresponding to the textual specification. Thereafter, the located cloud services are ranked and presented and one or more of the presented cloud services are selected for deployment and deployed as part of an aggregated distributed application. Thereafter, the registry is searched to locate and rank new cloud services based upon the textual specification, and in response to determining that one of the new cloud services is ranked higher than an existing one of the cloud services already deployed, the determined one of the new cloud services is deployed into the aggregated distributed application.

Abstract: A method of improving resource performance in a hybrid cloud environment is provided. The hybrid cloud environment includes multiple cloud systems, each of which includes at least one resource that utilizes an application. The application of a resource is executed on a cloud system of a user. Performance of the application for a user is monitored to determine a base performance of the resource on the cloud system. The application with an additional resource is concurrently run on a shadow cloud system to determine an additional base performance of the additional resource, where the additional base performance of the additional resource, at least in part, defines a performance gain of the additional resource on the shadow cloud system. The user is notified of the performance gain of the additional resource on the cloud system, and a cloud service provider upsells the additional resource to the user.

Abstract: Metric anomaly detection techniques in a digital medium environment are described. An input time interval is identified by an analytics system for the presence of an anomaly of a metric. Inclusion of a scheduled event in the input time interval is identified, and a historical time interval is determined that also includes the scheduled event. Usage data describing values of the metric is then obtained for both the input time interval and the historical time interval. The usage data corresponding to the input time interval is then compared with the usage data corresponding to the historical time interval to detect effects of the scheduled event and whether the input time interval includes an anomaly in the metric.
