    摘要： Method and apparatus for capturing a variable length of sensory data in association with still image data. The sensory data are generated from a sensor signal beginning prior to capture of a still image and ending a selected period after capturing the still image. The sensory data are stored in temporary storage. Still image data are generated in response to a control signal to capture a still image, and the still image data are also stored in the temporary storage. A default portion of the sensory data in association with the image data is stored in non-volatile storage. The default portion of sensory data in non-volatile storage is conditionally replaced with a selected subset of the sensory data from the temporary storage if the user selects replacement.

    摘要： A system and method quickly and effectively display battery status and/or other parameters of a portable electronic device. In one embodiment, a method displays parameters of a portable electronic device in a power-off state by storing a plurality of user-definable settings in response to a power-off condition. In addition, the method detects an activation of a status input, and in response applies power to a display, and displays a status of the stored parameters on a display, while maintaining operational logic of the personal electronic device in a power-off state. In another embodiment, a method displays a current battery-power status of a portable electronic device, while in a power-off state. This method retrieves a battery-power status that was previously measured and saved. Using this retrieved information, along with a measured amount of time since the information was measured or saved, method determines the current battery-power status.

One of the photographs uses the camera settings specified by the user, and the other photograph uses camera settings automatically selected by the camera. The taking of the second photograph may optionally be disabled by the camera user. The taking of the second photograph may optionally occur only if the user-specified settings differ, or differ significantly from the automatically-determined settings. The camera may optionally be a digital camera.
