    摘要: A method for inspecting a component is provided. The method includes generating an image of the component, generating a signal indication mask, and generating a noise mask using a signal within the signal indication mask. The noise mask facilitates reducing a quantity of prospective signals contained in the signal indication mask. The method further includes utilizing the signal indication mask and the generated noise mask to calculate the signal-to-noise ratio of at least one potential flaw indication that may be present in the image.

    摘要: A thermal inspection system includes a fluid source configured to supply a warm flow and a cool flow, indirectly or directly, to internal passage(s) of a component. The system includes an imager configured to capture a time series of images corresponding to a transient thermal response of the component to the warm and cool flows. The system further includes at least one flow meter configured to measure the warm and cool flows supplied to the component and a processor operably connected to the imager. The processor determines the transient thermal response of the component around a transition time. The flow supplied to the component switches from the warm flow to the cool flow at the transition time. The processor compares the transient thermal response around the transition time with one or more baseline values or with an acceptable range of values to determine if the component meets a desired specification.

    摘要: Processes and systems for training machine vision systems for use with OCR algorithms to recognize characters. Such a process includes identifying characters to be recognized and individually generating at least a first set of templates for each of the characters. Each template comprises a grid of cells and is generated by selecting certain cells of the grid to define a pattern that correlates to a corresponding one of the characters. Information relating to the templates is then saved on media, from which the information can be subsequently retrieved to regenerate the templates. The templates can be used in an optical character recognition algorithm to recognize at least some of the characters contained in a marking.
