Abstract:
An offshore power generation structure comprising a submerged portion having a first deck portion comprising an integral multi-stage evaporator system, a second deck portion comprising an integral multi-stage condensing system, a third deck portion housing power generation equipment, cold water pipe; and a cold water pipe connection.
Abstract:
There is disclosed a method of making a segmented pultrusion die, said method comprising the steps of: selecting a first block having a first length sized to permit end cutting along an axis of said first block; end cutting said first block along said axis thereof, to form a first die segment having a first cavity extending therethrough, said first cavity having a first cross-sectional profile, selecting a second block having a second length; processing said second block to form a second die segment having a second cavity extending therethrough, said second cavity having a second cross-sectional profile which matches said first cross-sectional profile; aligning said first and said second die segments together to match said first cross-sectional profile together with said second cross sectional profile to form a continuous die having a constant cross-sectional profile; and securing said aligned first and second die segments together to permit said segmented pultrusion die to be used in place of a single die. Also disclosed is a segmented pultrusion die comprising a first die segment, a second die segment, said first die segment being adjoined to said second die segment, and a means for securing the first die segment to the second die segment.
Abstract:
An offshore power generation structure comprising a submerged portion having heat exchange sections, power generation sections, a cold water pipe and a cold water pipe connection. The cold water pipe comprises a plurality of offset first and second staved portions.

Abstract:
A rolling door assembly includes first and second corresponding plastic panels secured to one another by hinged panel interlock. Each panel has first and second interlock parts to each of the upper and lower sides of each panel. The hinged panel interlock is formed by the first interlock part of the first panel securing with the second interlock part of the second panel. Each panel has an edge opening remotely of the hinged panel interlock in opposite ends of each panel. Each panel opening is fitted with an insert having an elongated cylindrical bore which receives an axle of a door roller having a roller head along the side edge of the door assembly.

Abstract:
A variable axis turbine may include multiple nested rotatable rotor assemblies. The turbine may be self-starting in slow fluid conditions while simultaneously self-limiting in fast fluid conditions. The turbine may provide omni-directional energy recovery and be self-balancing. The nested rotatable rotor assemblies may be configured to rotate independently of each other, but along the same rotational axis. Each outer nested rotor blade set may direct fluid onto the inner rotor blade sets in an aerodynamically beneficial manner. Each rotor blade set may be interconnected with a rotating generator hub that encloses a rotating generator element that rotates along with a corresponding rotor blade set for electric power generation. The blades may be “smart blades” that are sufficiently flexible to be self-configuring during rotation and soft enough to partially absorb sound. The blades may have a variable hardness and a two or more dimensional twist.
Abstract:
A combination brushing and sealing member which fits to a garage door frame behind a garage door comprises a frame mounting portion having first and second legs meeting at a corner region of the frame mounting portion. The first leg has a front face provided with a forwardly protruding brush which wipes against the garage door. A flexible seal extends from near the corner region of the frame mounting portion forwardly of the front face of the first leg to seal against the garage door.
Abstract:
An offshore structure for use with an OTEC system includes a submerged spar having a lower portion having a cold water intake. The cold water intake includes a domed terminus in fluid communication with a cold water pipe. A dry machinery space adjacent the cold water intake includes one or more cold water supply pumps and one or more cold water pipe lifting and retention winches having a lifting cable connected to the cold water pipe.
