    摘要: An object of the present invention is to provide a mechanism for improving the performance of a radio access network. The object is achieved by a data packet (200) in a first network node (110). The first network node (110) is adapted to transmit the data packet (200) to a second network node (120), over a radio link (130). The first network node (110) and second network node (120) are comprised in a wireless communications network (100). The data packet (200) comprising a data packet header (210) and a data packet payload (220). The data packet header (210) comprising at least one length indicator (211, 212, 213, 214, 215). The data packet payload (220) comprising a number of consecutive packet data units (221, 222, 223), of the same specific size. The number of consecutive data units (221, 222, 223), of the same size is indicated in the data packet header (210) using a first length indicator of the at least one length indicators (211, 212, 213, 214, 215).

Each PDU being identified using a sequence number.     摘要: A method in a user equipment (UE) includes transmitting, to a first radio base station, one or more protocol data units (PDUs) that are each associated with a respective Internet Protocol (IP) packet. The method also includes receiving one or more feedback indications from the first radio base station, each indicating whether a corresponding PDU was successfully received, and transmitting a retransmission of at least one PDU based on the feedback indications. Additionally, the method includes determining a time point for performing a cell change based on whether the first radio base station has not successfully received all of the PDUs associated with IP packets for which a complete IP packet has been transmitted and performing the cell change at the determined time point.

    摘要: UTRAN MAC-d multiplexing of data from multiple logical channels to a single MAC-d flow is supported while reducing overhead and achieving octet alignment in MAC-d PDU length. In one embodiment, the C/T field of a multiplexed MAC-d PDU is eliminated, and the logical channels multiplexed into the MAC-d flow are mapped to a MAC-hs PQ in at least the NodeB (and preferably in the UE as well). In other embodiments, the C/T field is retained, and an octet-aligned length indicator is transmitted from the RNC to the UE. In one embodiment, the length indicator is octet-aligned by padding the MAC-d PDUs. In another embodiment, transmitters and receivers in the path from RNC to UE are configured with an offset to add to the length indicator to achieve octet alignment. The padding or offset is (8−n) bits, where n=the number of bits in C/T field.
