摘要： A computer system is disclosed in which features can be identified in a live television signal. A keyword extractor is arranged to identify keywords in the received television signal or to identify characteristic features in the signal. A content retrieval unit can then retrieve additional content that is related to selected keywords. An output unit can output keywords initially in an expanded format which may include the keyword and the retrieved additional content. The keywords are then displayed in a contracted format after a predetermined period of time has elapsed in order to make space on for newer keywords in the expanded format.

A matching engine can then identify a segment of television, based on fingerprinting techniques and can determine a time delay between the start time of the segment of television and its identification. A content retrieval unit can then select augmentation content based on the identified segment of television and the time delay, and this can be output to a client device. In this way the augmentation content can be selected so that it maintains synchronization with live television.

A user analysis module is configured to acquire data concerning television content being viewed contemporaneously by other users in a network, and the user's set-top-box can output content related to the acquired data to one or more display devices so that it can be viewed by the user. In addition the set-top-box is connected to a server including an extractor configured to extract data from the live television. 摘要： A system and method facilitating the production, processing, and Internet distribution of 3D animated movies including 3D multipath movies. A key reduction algorithm reduces the keyframes associated with the 3D movie to facilitate the streaming of the data over the Internet. An animation optimization and texture optimization algorithm allows the system to get statistical information of the portions of the 3D object which are invisible (outside the view frame), and whose animation and texture data may thus be safely removed. If the 3D object is within the view frame, the optimization algorithm gathers information about the distance and size of the 3D object and its associated texture data within the frame. The system and method further allows creation of various versions of the 3D object from a single production process. The various versions are tagged with an identifier identifying the target platforms and media platforms in which they are suitable for display. During playback, the correct version of the 3D object is selected for display based on the detected Internet bandwidth and/or CPU speed. To stream the 3D animation content over the Internet for real-time playback, the present system and method allows the data to be divided into an upfront file and various stream files. The upfront file is downloaded prior to the playback of the movie. The stream files are streamed over the Internet and made available to the 3D engine in time for their use.
