摘要: A sound reproducing apparatus capable of self-diagnostic. The apparatus includes a directional speaker emitting ultrasound waves to a target object, an information acquisition unit configured to acquire a sound from the target object and optionally an image of the target object, and a processor electrically connected with the directional speaker and the information acquisition unit. The processor drives the directional speaker to emit the ultrasound waves to the target object and diagnoses a failure of the directional speaker based on the sound acquired by the information acquisition unit. A self-diagnostic method for a sound reproducing apparatus having a directional speaker is also provided.

摘要: To estimate an accurate travel direction of a user based on sensor signals from a mobile device being held by the user even if the user moves ahead while moving the mobile device right and left, a travel direction information output apparatus, a travel direction information output method, and a computer readable medium are provided, the travel direction information output apparatus including a travel direction estimation unit that calculates a travel direction of the user, a rotation amount calculation unit that calculates rotation amounts about a gravity axis of the mobile device being held by the user, and a selection unit that selects, based on an integrated value of the rotation amounts, from either to output travel direction information according to the travel direction calculated by the travel direction estimation unit or to output travel direction information that keeps previous travel direction information output.

摘要: In order to accurately identify a hold state of a mobile device held by a user while the user is moving, provided is a hold state change detection apparatus including an acquiring section that acquires an output signal of a sensor mounted in the mobile device held by the user; a change detecting section that detects a change in a hold state of the mobile device based on the output signal of the sensor; and a hold state judging section that judges the hold state based on the output signal of the sensor. During a prescribed time from the time when the change detecting section detects the change in the hold state, information indicating the hold state prior to the detection of the change in the hold state is output. Also provided is a hold state change detection method and program.

摘要: To reduce false counts of a device that counts a user's step count. A pedometer device, a step counting method, and a recording medium are provided. The pedometer devices includes: an acquiring unit that acquires a sensor signal output by a sensor carried by a user; an extracting unit that extracts a feature quantity from the sensor signal; a storage unit that stores a walking model which represents walking motions, the walking model being formed based on a feature quantity extracted from a sensor signal corresponding to a predetermined number of steps of walking; a comparing unit that compares the feature quantity extracted at the extracting unit with the walking model; and a deciding unit that decides whether the user has walked a predetermined number of steps, based on a result of the comparison performed by the comparing unit.

The apparatus includes multiple directional speakers located at different places, an information acquisition unit configured to acquire sensing information of a person to be provided with a reproduced sound, and a processor that determines a position of the person from the acquired sensing information and controls output levels of the multiple directional speakers. The method includes the steps of acquiring sensing information of a person to be provided with a reproduced sound, determining a position of the person from the acquired sensing information, and controlling output levels of the directional speakers. The output levels of the speakers are determined based on the distance from the person.
